From Casio G-Shock, the innovators of tough timekeeping, comes the GGB100 Master of G Mudmaster watch series that has been designed to endure the toughest environments. This watch features a carbon core guard structure case, in black with grey accents, that allows the internal mechanics of the watch to be protected from shock-induced damage. This watch is mud resistant with metal buttons that form a tight seal on the case, a dual back cover that consists of a stainless steel panel back and an outer cover made of shock resistant fine resin embedded with glass fibers, and the bezel has three layers of fine resin with carbon fiber inserts. The Quad Sensor capabilities provide instant access to a compass, altitude/barometer, thermometer, and an accelerometer that keeps track of your step count. Additionally, this watch connects via Bluetooth to a special G-Shock app that helps with the configuration, as well as records altitude data, route information, and step counts. These recordings are used to create an activity log you can use for tracking. Mode Switching Customization allows you to turn on and off individual modes and their sequence, for a personalized feel. This capable watch is finished with a grey resin band. What I needed was a highly durable watch, very easy to read, with no hassle in keeping it on the correct date and time. This watch meets all of the criteria and looks very nice! The ability to synchronize this watch to my iPhone with the Casio App turned out to be exceptionally useful and very helpful. I was concerned that this watch did not have a solar battery; however, I am actually getting more use out of it with a regular battery which simply needs to changed out, approximately every two years. I bought my first Casio G-Shock watch back in the 90's. I've been extremely loyal to the G-Shock brand ever since. Every upgrade and evolution of the G-Shock series always had a strong feel with some weight to them. I was suprised by the lack of weight on the G-Shock Mudmaster GGB100. After reading some of the reviews, I suppose that's a good thing. Overall love my new purchase of the Mudmaster. Still a great watch that will last a very very long time. ... show more

I was sick of having to charge up my other "smart" watch, thus I wanted something that had a regular battery, a traditional watch face and a step counter...not easy to find.....This casio Mud resist, ticked off all those boxes! Been wearing this beast for a couple weeks now. Here are the things I like so far. Comfort- Casio has a way of making these big watches wear so well, lightweight, as it curves to the top of your wrist so nicely and mold to your arm. Looks- I think a lot of people buy the mudmaster for this reason, this is a bold looking watch that is easy to read. I enjoy the new carbon case design here as well as the dial. The carbon fiber bezel really sets this watch off. Functionality- Having owned a gravitymaster with Bluetooth in the past, the ability to pair via Bluetooth with your phone and set up this watch is a nice feature that I was hoping would come to the lower priced Mudmaster. I love the find your phone feature on this watch! There are however a couple issues with this model that I hope Casio address is in future models. Thermometer- The thermometer works although it takes 30 to 45 minutes off the wrist to get an accurate reading. Mine did need adjusting as it was inaccurate out-of-the-box. Since this watch communicates with the phone to update time and timezone information I don't understand why Casio didn't have the option to bypass the incredibly slow temperature sensor and read the local temperature from your phone and transfer it to the watch. It's almost like Casio was too afraid to make this too much like a smartwatch, but they already have one toe in the pool here, just go all in. I think the user should have the option in the app to bypass the sensors and pull the temp and weather information from a phone. Lack of solar- initially I wasn't going to complain about this because this watch is not competing with the higher-priced G-Shock that has solar power and sapphire glass. I do however believe this would be a nice touch to all the G shock watches once they get up in this price range. Hopefully we'll see it in future models at this price point. Pedometer- personally I have no idea why they threw this feature on here other than for gimmick. I doubt anyone is seriously going to use this much and once again this is something that your phone can do. Why spend the money on an extra sensor and waste space inside the watch when you could just have the watch read that information from your phone. The negative digital display- I really hope they stop doing this on the mud Masters. This is just too hard to read in many lighting conditions. ... show more
