AMAZING filter for small tents, packs a huge punch for its value. I have the vivosun T4 and filter in my other tent, this fan is just as quiet, moves as much if not more air, and is about 1/2 the overall size with the integrated fan. Filter cannister is same diameter as the vivosun, and about 2" longer to fir the fan. For smaller tents, like a 24"x24", this is a game changer since its an all-in-one compact size. Other reviews mentioned leaking carbon, so i took it apart and cleaned before using and only found 3 small pellets inside that were floating around. The carbon is contained in a stocking type material and then is caged in the metal housing, so there really isnt much of a chance for it to come out - however i plan to open up the filter after a week or two and check for dust buildup. The only downside of this fan over the vivosun unit is the lack of USB control, which means you cant control it with the GrowHub. In my case, my GrowHub never left speed 1 as the tent never got too hot or too much humidity, so settings this controller to one and leaving it worked exactly the same - however it is nice to have the system be able to increase the speed when needed. Outside of that little downside, the upside is huge given the reduced space, similar sound/speed, and it costing 40% what a vivosun fan/filter combo would cost. I still have to wait and see how long it lasts, but so far its a 5-star all the way!

I bought this on sale for $39 bucks. It was well packaged and arrived damaged free. I was a bit surprised by the bulky weight of this carbon scribber, but in my mind that is a good thing, if it were light as a feather I would have been a bit concerned. The carbon scrubber was covered in a light dusting of charcoal so I decided to plug the fan in in my garage and crank it on high for about a half hour. When I was finished I dampened some paper towels and wiped down the carbon scrubber and then dried it. After that I placed the filter over the scrubber, and it was good to go. Moves air, does it's job.

The media could not be loaded. It worked really well for the first 4 months. About 2 weeks ago the internal fan started surging and is not pushing air like it did. I tried to reach out via email and phone number and the phone number doesn't work and my emails could not be sent to the email address that is listed on Melon farms website. I really hope this is not how Melon farms does business. I thought I was buying something that I would have some sort of product support for but so far, nothing.

Keeps the laundry room from smelling like cat crap. Worth every penny. *It's the cat. We use good litter and scoop it twice a day. But despite dietary changes, his feces is putrid. This filter on low makes all the difference

Packaged well. Cylinder comes wrapped in cling film which is then shrink-wrapped. No loose carbon mess. Includes one sock (intake prefilter) similar to ACI prefilter material, a pair of hooks for hanging from grow tent rails or whatever, power supply with inline speed control (very short wire that attaches via barrel plug right next to the duct flange on top), and a flimsy 6" exhaust filter cap* if you pay a bit extra for it. Fan/filter unit feels sturdy and smells fresh. Compact and light. Purchased for occasionally clearing thick smoke from a ~1200cu.ft space. Does the trick but it's quite loud regardless of speed setting. 6in/8in ACI units with separate inline fans turned down a bit do far more work with far less noise, even in the same "fan-on-flange plus a dust cap/Dust Shroom" configuration. Spend a good bit more if you plan to live near it. It appears to be intended for indoor cultivation in small grow tents. I would not recommend using axial fans for primary ventilation in any open-vent cultivation space, nor for destratification in any space, but I suppose this may be suitable for venting very very small tents with very low heat loads. Very low air volume. I would estimate 100-200 watts max lighting in something like a short 2'x2'. Still less than ideal for that. Pretty cool for what it is though. *I don't know if the listing states this or not but the exhaust side cover upgrade included with this 4" fan/filter is definitely a 6" cap. The cover will not reliably fit this unit or any other 4" duct parts.

I bought this to use with a dry herb vaporizer indoors to eliminate the smell. I’m using it in a 10x12 room with the fan pulling across the surface area of the filter, with the fan blowing up towards the ceiling. I set the fan to about 60% and sit next to the filter with my noise canceling headphones (the volume isn’t awful but it can be annoying). I blow the vapor into the filter directly. Where this really works great is when you need to grind flower. Even CBD flower at 3%+ terpene content will completely destroy the room and outside hall unless I use this at the desk next to my grinder. I have to keep my room HEPA air filter running or when I switch it on after a big session or several sessions the room gets foggy and the HEPA filter works overtime. Obviously this carbon filter isn’t designed to filter contaminants, only smells, so it’s working as designed. Just something to keep in mind. I do not smoke so I have no idea how well it may work with combusted smoke vs. vapor. I think I can probably make this way more efficient using a half-open box so it draws the air in better from the side facing me, which may allow me to be able to reduce the fan speed and improve efficiency. I am playing with using activated carbon foam rolls made for AC window units and furnace filters as a pre-filter to increase the lifespan. They’re thin enough that they don’t seem to increase air resistance and super easy to cut to length and replace.
