Great and fun puzzle
My 2 year old loves these puzzles. They do scratch easy but it doesn’t stop the kids from enjoying them.

Cute pet puzzle is a hit
I bought this for my then 18 month old grand daughter to play with when she comes over. I'm always buying her new toys so she has quite a collection at my house now. I knew this one was a hit because as soon as she saw it, she picked up the little yellow cat and kissed it! Later that day, she insisted on to taking the two cats with her in the stroller when we went on our walk. She mastered the puzzle part very quickly so that was not much of a challenge for her. I think the age recommendation should be 12 months instead of 24 months. But, she continues to pick it out of all the other toys in the basket to play with in other ways. She has learned to identify each of the animals and say their names: "poodle", "turtle", "yellow cat", "black cat"... (Grandma just loves to hear her sweet little girl talk!) And, the animals frequently end up being part of other play activities like building with blocks, hide and seek, etc... The construction seems very durable. The pictures look painted on to me-- not hand-painted, maybe silk screened-- but not stickers like other reviewers have reported. Maybe Melissa and Doug changed the manufacturing process because of the complaints. Ours has been played with twice a week for the last three months and still looks brand new. Overall, I think this will be a fun and cute toy for a long time. ... show more

arrived dinged up, advertisement on back
Review Image by MN MN
disappointing purchase. 1. the wooden board the should be sturdy and durable arrived already signed up. that doesn’t seem to prove that it’s going to last through all my kids. 2. the back has a massive advertisement/ info printed onto it. it’s really ugly and i wish it was just classic plain wood back. it’s not a sticker that can just be peeled off. this product has the potential to be a high quality heirloom product but not with cheesy ugly promo on the back. ... show more

Durable and fun
My 20 month old has so much fun with this puzzle. He loves the pictures of the animals and the pieces are the perfect size for his hands. The pieces are made of wood and hold up well, as he has thrown them into the floor many times and they have not cracked. Behind the puzzle piece is the same picture painted on the actual board so it helps him to find the right spot for each piece. The shapes aren’t very complicated and I worry he might get board with this type of puzzle soon, but at the moment he really enjoys it. He really likes saying what type of animal each piece is and making the animal sounds. He also really likes the Melissa and Doug Farm Animal puzzle and the Transportation themed puzzle. ... show more
