We bought these for our 2 year old to use on the plane during a recent vacation. They were great! Small enough to pack in my purse or carry on suitcase. These entertained her for a while and she still colors them now that we are at home.

I have 3 kids, and even my older ones (5 and 7) still get marker EVERYWHERE! These are great when on the go because I don't have to worry about marker on my carseats or their clothes etc. My almost 2 year old LOVES them and normally she would have marker all over her arms and face. Highly recommend! Getting more for her birthday! The only negative is the little plastic compartment for the markers tends to come detached from the booklet, but not a huge deal. Pricing is a little on the higher side, but in my eyes, it's worth not having marker all over the place! ... show more

    • Wrong color ink!
Disappointed in the marker colors: I ordered the set of three which includes what is represented as a red marker in two of the sets. Neither actually produces red ink. Instead, they are both hot pink. Not great news for a 4 year old boy obsessed with red to not even get one working red marker. What an even greater letdown that he will expect it to be red each time he goes to use it, just to be disappointed and ask me 10 million times why his red marker isn’t actually red. Both of the green markers are also actually blue. It’s a different shade of blue than the actual blue, but only slightly and certainly wouldn’t pass for coloring grass for example. I get the color may be a small issue for most as the markers do work, the coloring pages are nice (they do bleed thru so keep in mind and tear page out before coloring if this will bother your child), and the idea of mess free markers is wonderful. So why would I dock 2 stars for the wrong color marker situation? Because these are Melissa & Doug, and priced as such, and thus I expect a $15 product when I spend $15 on it. If these were dollar store finds (or even $2-$3 price point and I was smart enough to buy a single pack for testing before buying a multi-pack) it would earn a 5 star rating regardless. As is, I won’t buy the M&D version but try the crayola next time ... show more

My 2.5 year old really enjoys coloring in these. It's a good compromise for when she asks to get the paint out and I don't want a mess! My only complaint is that the green color doesn't actually look green on the paper, more like a light blue. My child doesn't care but I could see an older child being annoyed by that. ... show more
