    • Very sturdy, keys sometimes stick
This piano is definitely cute, but the sound is more rinky than I would like. It doesn't sound like a real piano, more like an old timey rinky piano. The keys sometimes stick as well which is a bummer. It is very sturdy and small enough to not get in the way. My kids enjoy this, so I still consider it a win, it just doesn't sound the way I hoped it would. ... show more

Love the look and the book the piano comes with but unless you bash the keys, sound isn't coming from it. And it sounds more like a xylophone than a piano. Like one of the ones you used to play in middle school with the wooden mallet. But! Nevertheless, it's cute and my toddler likes to play it, not often, but once in a while. She's used to her grandmothers piano sound so the dink-dink sound she gets from this isn't impressive to her lol ... show more

    • Solid little piano but don't expect this to sound like your baby grand
I dropped this a star simple because of the sound of it. Yes, it's a kids piano and I am not even sure what I was expecting but the plunky xylophone sound was not it. So just don't set your expectations too high for the sound quality. Construction wise though, like any Melissa & Doug product, is very well done! It's not going to fall apart and when your child tips it over (this WILL happen) it doesn't phase it. If it tips over on their toes it WILL hurt but they'll be fine. The keys have a nice little picture guide that shows what note each key plays, this was promptly ripped off by my daughter within 5 minutes or opening. A painted or stickered label would have been great but I'm not exactly expecting her to play Mozart on this. Long story short, she loves it, it makes noise, one could probably get it to sound like some sort of song if they knew what they were doing, and it's well built.
