Features

  • DESIGNED FOR DRUM SET PLAYERS: switching from your sticks to these mallets on your kit will feel totally natural; they deliver smooth cymbal swells and thunderous toms while maintaining the balance and durability of a standard drumstick
  • WHY IT MATTERS: you're not a timpani player; now you can accompany your drumstick assortment with mallets that fit drum kit applications and aren't crafted for concert percussionists
  • ONE BIG THING: the handles are made from United States hickory (just like our drumsticks) and are sized to 5A; if you've ever wished your mallets felt as good as your drumsticksthis is our answer
  • DRIVING THE SOUND: the Medium head is made with medium-soft felt; it has the most versatility with an attack that sits between our Super Soft and Hard mallets for long cymbal crescendos and punchy tom grooves
  • OF NOTE: Meinl Drum Set Mallets are made in Germany with three different head types; choose from Super Soft, Medium, and Hard or add more than one model to your bag so you're covered for anything
  • BY THE NUMBERS: hickory handles measure 15.550" long with a 0.565" diameter (size 5A); mallet head measures 1.220" in diameter; sold in pairs
  • THE BOTTOM LINE: these highly durable mallets feel as good as your sticks so your touch isn't thrown off when you switch
  • THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturer and brand established 1951 in Germany; our expert German designers have deep relationships with our builders to ensure you're delivered the absolute finest quality

  • harvesting full rich sound
Style: Medium
These mallets are very well made and perfect for capturing full rich sounds. My wife and I use them extensively in our home recording studio playing Cajon, Bongos, Djembe, woodblocks, and cowbell. Although neither of us play drums, our percussion tracks sound great (and full) and without typical starkness of conventional drums. Lastly these mallets allow us to play/record with consistency. ... show more

  • Not much different than tympani mallets
Style: Super Soft
I’ve had these for three months now and they do work but I honestly don’t think they’re any softer than my tympani mallets which cost half the price. I’ll continue to use them but I just don’t see (or hear) enough of a difference to justify the expense.
