This is a very sturdy and well made case. It seals tightly an dthe all components works well together and appear to be very durable. I purchased this box to store my GooLoo 3000 portable Car Booster Battery Pack. This particular case is the perfect size for the charger and all associated cables.

Coming in at half the cost of the popularly recognized brand name’s model 1170 case, the Meijia can run a very close 2nd place finisher, depending upon your needs for a case like this. For me, I wandered upon a fortunate sale, which made the decision even easier to try the Meiji. I tried to go as close to apples to apples as I could with my pelican, and I have to admit, I was surprised. I did not expect this much similarity and looks, appearance, and potential performance. But that said, it’s not pelicans twin; it does have some shortcomings. From a totally subjective standpoint: I think, if I had something valuable inside each of these cases, I would be putting my money on the pelican to survive a three-story fall to concrete a tad better than the Meija. That said, I believe each would sufficiently protect the contents. In my case, I was looking for a hard case to protect a $150 card jump starter. * Meija feels slightly lighter in build with less robust support at the hinges. * discuss the waterproof seal later, but I would personally only trust the major to be highly water resistant, with the possibility of maybe being waterproof. From a more objective standpoint: * Pelican clasps use a two-piece clasp system, while the Meija uses only one. * While I’m unsure exactly how the pelican pressure equalization valve works, it does appear to be an Intral part of the case not meant to be removed. On the other hand, the major is a simple removable screw cap with a rubber gasket. * Watertight seal on the pelican sills 100% of the channel all the way around the four sides of the case. The Meija shows signs of an air gap caused by the rubber gasket being compressed as it round the corners. * The Meija opens wider than the Pelican can. * When opening the case, the Pelican lid stays in place. The Meija is not that tightly constructed. * As I set up picture shots, I was constantly having to realign or prop the major in order to keep it in place. The pelican consistently stayed solidly in place where I put it. * for what it may be worth, there seems to be an obvious spot where the two shell pieces of the Meija had been separated from another piece (viewable on the bottom view picture). I bought two of these, and both have those marks. I see no such break indications anywhere on the Pelican.

This is basically a harbor freight Apache case. The one we wished they had. It's between an 1800 and 2800. My sample has a good seal, no flashing and great fit and finish. The pluck foam is the typical you get. I do wish the center foam was two layers, for my case use. Highly recommend when caught on lightning deal pricing levels.
