Let's be honest, you buy the X100F partially because of the design and aesthetics so anything you put on it should look great. So I was nervous about buying this because it's hard to tell about build quality in the photos. Well, this affordable leather case has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it. I did have to put in a little work on it, but once the leather breaks in it looks and feels great. It does add a little height to the bottom, but it's not bad and the camera still feels compact. Also, I've found the battery flap and snap to work perfectly. It's not a problem to swap batteries and SD card. I don't use the strap it came with, but my initial impressions are that it's better quality than the stock Fuji one (a little wider, softer feel). Some reviewers said it didn't fit the phone well. For something this cheap, I wonder if build quality is inconsistent? Mine was well built however. PROS: * Fit/Finish: Once you break in the case with some Leather Honey it feels and fits perfectly. As with other leather products, the more you use it the more the leather breaks in and feels better. * Protection: It's exactly what I need, not too much. It gives the phone "bumpers" and doesn't slip or scratch if I set it down on hard surfaces. * Grip: This is one of the HUGE benefits. I feel a lot more confident now using the phone one-handed. The hand grip bump on the X100F is so subtle that I never really could get a secure grip on it with one hand. And those hot-shoe thumb grips always seem fussy and block buttons. The broken-in leather gives me enough grip so I can shoot one-handed and not feel like I might drop my precious. * Price: It's so very affordable. TIPS: When it arrived it looked, felt (and smelled) a little on the cheap-o side. The leather was kind of stiff, it didn't really "hug" the curves of the phone. My recommendation is to apply some Leather Honey to the case when you first get it. Put the case back on the phone and massage the leather around the different curves and bends of the phone. You may need to bend the area around the hand grip bump so it molds around it. Pay attention to the curves around the battery flap and make sure the flap is close flat afterward so it molds properly. Wipe off excess oils. After I did that and used the case for a while, the leather really started to soften and shape. The only areas that don't hug the phone are upper left and right corners on the side (see pictures), but that's minor in my opinion. ... show more

I only paid $7 for this from an Amazon Warehouse “open box” sale, and I think that’s about right. The strap is pretty much useless, I think it’ll wear out in a hurry so I don’t bother using it. The half-case looks great, really adds a lot of retro charm. The leather it’s made out of feels pretty thin, so I’m guessing it’s going to start showing wear pretty quickly. Think “cheap Office Max desk chair,” it’s that kind of leather. Like I said, I got it for a steep discount, so for that price I’m happy with it. I've been hesitant to get a half case for my new (to me) X100F; I was concerned about the little bit of height it adds, and whether it would feel cheap and just not snug enough to feel good. I am so happy to report that it's actually great. This might sound crazy, but the half case actually makes the camera feel lighter; something about picking it up with the case on, maybe the grip or the material, it just feels really good. I got the black one for my silver X100F and it's awesome. I also put an Expertshield matte screen protector on it, and now I feel like I can throw this camera around, in a really good way. Somehow, setting it down on a table or something with the half case feels better to me; now it's not just the metal camera body clanking down onto my desk or whatever. I haven't used the wrist strap that came with it as I'm not a huge fan of straps, but the camera feels (and looks) really great now. Highly recommended! ... show more

I use a Crown Royale felt bag to protect my compact cameras. The purple bags work surprising well but I wanted something a little sturdier to protect my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 when traveling. I am very happy with this. Perfect fit, not too tight or loose. I can open the magnetic snap and remove one handed. I had planned to remove the belt holder on the back but it is very unobtrusive so I won't bother. The leather is pebbled and a darker brown than shown. It came with a small lens cleaning cloth. The leather case is fairly lightweight and somewhat flexible on the front and back. The sides of the case where the straps attach are stiffer, they seem to be reinforced with cardboard. The top snaps closed well with a wrist strap attached although it could use a dedicated notch for the purpose. Often I grab the wrist strap and carry my camera with the case still on but I can't with this because the magnetic snap won't hold. But again I'd rather have a magnetic than mechanical snap since I'd worry about damaging the lens pushing on it. It would be nice to have room for an extra battery but that would add to the size of the case. All in all I'm very pleased. For the price I don't think you can go wrong. Update Aug 2015 - I ended up purchasing a Velcro closing neoprene case because it was lighter and also because the magnetic snap did not always stay closed securely. ... show more
