  • Great value well made πŸ‘
Size: 4 Pairs
This is an excellent starter kit that covers pretty much every type of percussion setup you might need. Having the combination of soft felt mallets, rubber, marimba mallets, and standard 5A sticks makes it incredibly versatile, whether you're working on a drum pad, a steel drum, or a xylophone. The handles feel comfortable and balanced in the hand, and the tips are securely attached so they handle regular practice sessions with no issues. Getting four reliable pairs at this price is a fantastic value for anyone looking to round out their stick bag. Great value well made πŸ‘ ... show more

  • Great for aspiring percussionists!
Size: 4 Pairs
Great starter kit for someone getting into percussion. I work with percussionists all day; there's no end to all the accessories and accoutrements you can acquire, but this is an auspicious was to get started. They're all standard size, plenty durable, and provide a versatile array of percussion beaters: timpani, marimba, xylophone, and drum/cymbal. The weight/balance it pretty decent as well. The dowels are straight and comfortable. The sticks are turned well. And for the beginner, it comes with a bag, which is imperative. I got this set because I never know when a musician might forget/break something. ... show more

  • Well rounded starter kit with specialized mallets Well rounded starter kit with specialized mallets
Size: 4 Pairs
This drum stick and mallet set is a great "catch-all" kit for a student or a gigging drummer who needs to be ready for more than just a standard rock beat. While they are basic quality, having such a wide variety of implements in one bag is a huge value. It covers almost every base except for jazz brushes, making it a solid starter pack for school band or an experimental home studio. Aside from the standard 5A wood-tip sticks for daily kit playing, the set includes several specialized tools: - Felt mallets perfect for those "epic" cymbal swells or for getting a warm, muted tone out of the toms. - Rubber mallets for auxiliary percussion like woodblocks, cowbells, or even a glockenspiel/bell kit. - Soft mallets with tightly wound fabric for melodic percussion or soft tones The included carry bag is very basic but fits all the sticks and makes it easy to toss the whole collection into a larger gear bag. It's an affordable way to figure out which specialized sticks you actually want to use without splurging on pro-grade individual pairs. ... show more

  • Good sound from these 2 different types of percussion sticks
Size: 2 pairs
I am reviewing B0GDTV3G6C "Drum Mallets Kit – 2 Pairs, Rubber οΌ† Marimba, Percussion Instrument Beginner Accessories for Steel Drum, Bass Drum, Glockenspiel, Xylophone Mallet". The 2 pair set that I ordered comes with a pair of rubber-tipped mallets for sharp pops on hard surfaces like a xylophone, and a pair of yarn-wrapped mallets for softer more resonant tones, which can be used on more sensitive surfaces like some marimbas. They both produce the expected sounds. I don't believe either pair is varnished, although the yarn-wrapped sticks are noticeably smoother than the sticks of the rubber-tipped ones. A draw-string carrying/storage pouch is included, which is nice. Be sure to check prices of the different options. There is currently a 3 pair set that is a dollar LESS than the 2 pair set I ordered, and for only 5 bucks more you could get a 4 pair set. Value for the money is the main reason for 4 stars instead of 5, as the current price of $24 for 2 pairs seems high, especially when you can get the same 2 plus a third variety for a dollar less. ... show more

  • A good set of mallets to use for experimentation.
Size: 4 Pairs
I have a lot of percussion instruments, so I am always looking for something with which I can strike them. This set of mallets add more versatility to my sound, and the mallets can be used to strike non-traditional items, such as glass, metal, and even wood. I did not need the drumsticks, but I guess beginners will appreciate them. The heads have held up well to my use. There is no cracking on the wooden handles, despite some aggressive strikes on stainless steel and wood. I do wish the handles were a bit thicker to give a richer, deeper sound and there was a texture to prevent slippage, but they are not a professional set and I knew that. Do not be afraid to experiment with these mallets. I have used drumsticks (not these) to strike guitar strings, creating a harp-like sound; however, I have used these mallets on glasses with different levels of water and sand in them to create unique sounds. ... show more

  • Percussion mallets and drumsticks Percussion mallets and drumsticks
Size: 4 Pairs
This is a versatile set of mallets and sticks for a variety of percussion instruments. This kit includes timpani mallets, rubber mallets, marimba mallets, and 5A drumsticks. These are suitable for beginners and are not a professional set. As a beginner collection, these are great. They are sturdy and they sound good. Included is a bag with a shoulder strap to hold all of the mallets and sticks. Very convenient for carrying around. The drumsticks are 5A and are made of a hardwood, maybe maple? I'm not sure. The Timpani mallets have hard felt ends. The rubber mallets have a hard rubber ball at one end. The marimba mallets have a blue, course fabric, wrapped into a shape similar to an egg. Of course you can try each one on different percussion instruments and experiment with the sounds. ... show more

  • Perfect for a range for beginners
Size: 3 pairs
These mallets are solid and do the job for practice or casual playing. Each type felt, rubber, and marimba gives a different tone, which is nice if you want a little variety without buying separate sets. They feel comfortable in hand and are easy to control, even for longer sessions. I haven’t noticed any flimsiness, so they hold up pretty well under normal use. Not fancy, but practical and versatile. A good basic set for anyone playing timpani or other percussion instruments. ... show more

  • Nice quality collection of percussion tools
Size: 3 pairs
These various percussion tools offer a variety of sounds, including the rubber-tipped mallets, the yarn mallets, and the marimba mallets, each for different instruments and offering different resonance. The quality is good and these should last as long as they are handled properly. It is nice to have one kit with multiple options that can be carried in the provided pouch. I am pleased with the value for the price. ... show more
