It does take a bit to assemble, but each piece fit perfectly together. I like the height of this from the ground, and it is comfortable to sit in. We have a couple of Adirondack chairs and have had to put together a few of them. This particular chair has some built in hardware that makes assembly easier which was really great. There is one step (attaching the back to the base) that would benefit from two people, but other than that it is fairly simple to assemble. A few pre-manufactured issues existed where a couple of pieces didn’t have pre-drilled holes (so I added them once I aligned up what was pre-drilled) and a couple of places where the pre-drilled holes from one piece would not align with another. The wood is easy enough to drill pilot holes and it all went through without any wood splitting or splintering. I would recommend an impact drill if you have one to help speed up the installation. This chair is comfortable to sit in, easy to fold up and carry, and solid once on the ground and opened up. It is a pretty “porous” wood product so I will be sealing mine with a clear coat that will protect the chair against rot or moisture storage, ultimately damaging the wood. The chair is great, just giving it 4 out of 5 for the damaged wood and the absence of some pre-drilled components and the need to realign others. ... show more

    • Quick finish to the assembly; wood finish not molded

The folding design makes this one of the better chair designs. This is rough finish wood. I am a fan of the alternate materials. They don't need sealed or take on water damage as easily. It was very quick assembly since it's nearly complete upon arrival.
