The lid is adjustable to fit various sized coffee makers, a plus. I was replacing a broken Cuisinart carafe for a discontinued model machine. Replacement carafe was $45, a joke. At around $20, this was a stop gap. Glass on the carafe is thin, less so than the original carafe. I expect a moment of clumsiness with soapy or wet hands against the sink or countertop will break it. There are small nibs that hold the cover in place. Had one of these replacements some years ago, and those nibs broke off easily. For a little more than twice the price of the carafe, a new Cuisinart coffee maker can be bought on sale. Opted for the replacement carafe this time, but next time the new carafe will be part of a new machine. ... show more

I bought this to replace my current carafe because it drips a puddles every time I pour a cup of coffee when the pot is hot. It’s fine when the coffee is cold. This new carafe is made by the same German Manufacturer and guess what, This one drips a puddle when hot or cold! It’s a nice carafe and a can’t figure out why I can’t pour a cup without spilling some. Must be me. ... show more

I love my coffee maker, but the carafe has seen better days. I decided to buy this replacement carafe as the listing says it would work with my model. Sure enough, It does fit and still allows the pause and serve. Just be very careful as to how much water you put in your pot to brew coffee. The "12" on this replacement pot is much less then the "12" on my original pot. I filled my coffee makers reservoir up to about 12 with water and then dumped it in to the original pot. Yep, matched on the pot's markings. Then took the same water and dumped it into the replacement pot. Wow, very very near the top edge of the carafe. I normally use about 11 1/2, so I'll just be careful when grabbing the pot for the first cup. I love the fact that the top edge of the pot itself is glass and not ringed in plastic. The original put had plastic around the lip and was starting to leak after pouring some coffee, or when drying it after washing it would drip water from the plastic. All in all I'd say 4 stars, but as I said, be careful if you fill your reservoir up to 12! It may run over. Added this 8/1/2013 Had to add this as it is frustrating. Been using this replacement pot for 8 months now and just can't seem to pour a cup of coffee without it spilling down the side of the pot. Newer reviews have said to raise the lid while pouring, but that isn't always easy to do. The lid isn't held on with much of a hinge point, so it's possible that it can come off when trying to raise the lid and pour. I'm going to be looking around to see if I can find another brand of replacement just for the heck of it. I still can't part with my coffee maker. ... show more

We have a Black & Decker DCM2160B 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black . Strangely, I recently broke the end of the plastic lid that snaps onto the carafe, but didn't break the glass carafe itself. So I called the customer service phone number I found in the manual for this coffee maker to get a replacement lid. I was shocked and nearly fainted when I heard that they wanted me to pay $15 for a cheap piece of nearly flat plastic. This entire coffee maker is selling for nearly $20 as I write this, so I was definitely looking for an alternative to a $15 plastic lid. I almost purchased a new coffee maker when I found this universal replacement carafe, which is a much better value, and actually cost me less than just a lid for the carafe I already had. The Medelco website lists this specific carafe next to the DCM2160B coffee maker, and it fits perfectly. It fits so well with the tall lid, which was already attached, that it looks and feels like it was made specifically for this coffee maker. Better yet, the pour spout is pointed, which allows the coffee to flow in a smaller stream into the cup, and the glass is curved to allow all the coffee to flow out. The carafe that originally came with this coffee maker has a large plastic ring around the top with an unusually wide spout. Also, the glass at the top is sealed into the plastic ring, which forms a lip around the top of the carafe, allowing an unusually large amount of coffee to be trapped and not flow into the cup. This also can make the carafe harder to clean,. This is not at all a problem with this replacement, which keeps all the extra plastic in the lid where it should be. Even better, the multiple lid choices will fit in other coffee makers as well, so it could be put into another coffee maker with minimal hassle, and it makes a good replacement if any other coffee maker needs a replacement carafe. I would highly recommend this for anything listed on the Medelco website, and it would probably fit others as well, as long as one of the 3 lid sizes is tall enough to push against the base of the filter basket where the pause and serve valve opens. The tall lid does this perfectly on the DCM2160b, exactly as good as the carafe that came with it originally. ... show more
