I purchased a new home that had a location to mount a tv above the fireplace. The fireplace has a stone veneer, but the builder cut out the holes to accommodate. Only issue is, I could not find a full motion mount that would line up with what was there. I did not want to drill into the stone, and needed something that would allow me to use what was there. Thinking no such thing existed, I got on good old Amazon and found this. Bolted right up to the existing holes, and then I mounted my mount to this. What a relief. Oh, and this is really thick, sturdy metal. 10/10.

Easy install for this extended. The previous owners had an exterior brick chimney that toppled during a tornado. We’d forgotten the studs might be further apart than usual. This worked perfectly for our needs.

These are really high-quality brackets. The studs above my fireplace were oddly placed and off center, so the TV mount that I bought would not work. I considered attaching the mount to only a single stud, but then I found this solution. It's very easy to attach your mount to these brackets so that you have a wider range of studs to attach to. This is an easy solution and everything worked perfectly. The only down side, is that your TV will be a half inch farther off of the wall, but that is not a huge issue for me.

I bought these not necessarily because my studs were beyond 16 inches appart, but because they were not going to center the TV where I needed it. I was hoping to use these to use as the main brace for the studs and then slide my TV to center position. These went up well and worked very well with my mount. (PERLESMITH TV Wall Mount Bracket Full Motion Dual Articulating Arm). They were easily strong enough to support my weight of 200 pounds, so my 70 pound TV was no challenge for them. I was able to slide the TV along them like guide rails and lock it where I wanted it. I am SO glad I bought these. My only wish is that they made longer versions of them. I would have loved to have these for the length of 3 studs.

Easy to install, fit is annoying i had to order extra parts for the original mount set, doesn’t include that in description and should automatically be in box just in case. Sturdy otherwise

After trying to mount a separate TV mount, discovered the studs in the wall where we planned to hang it were farther apart than the rest. These extensions fixed the problem so I didn't have to return anything I'd already got and just push forward on the project. It actually even made it possible to glide the mount left and right a little bit that I wouldn't have been able to do before, so there's an extra perk. Update: A year or so later, and this thing worked so good, I ended up buying and using 3 more sets (plus the same "Mounting Dream" TV wall mount) making a total of 4 sets of these around the house. Check out the images from the latest install prior to finishing the new wall paint and new TV being attached). I was sort of taking care of all the projects at once, repainting the room, adding a new outlet and wall mount for a new tv, etc. all at the same time. That way, I could be sure the paint would be flawless being done last. I got really good at installing these things through the repetition, and they always worked fantastically. Anyway, very recommended.
