Solid feel, grips well, and smooth jaws will not grind up your needles. I purchased this pair of pliers on a friend's recommendation. Sometimes, when hand-stitching through multiple layers of heavy leather, you need pliers to pull the needle through. Your typical, off-the-shelf pliers will do the job, but the serrations in the laws will damage your needles over time. the scoring on the needles will make them harder and harder to use. These pliers are the solution. A good grip without damaging your needles. Very satisfied with these.

Overall these are great. I have small hands so the handles open a bit too wide for me. Being metal handles they are a bit slick after some use, coupled with the wide opening tires my hands. They work great, are very durable, easy to clean. I am very pleased with this item.

An excellent value. On reviewer commented that the jaws are not exactly parallel. They are a few thousanths off but designed so that the tips hit first and become parallel. With modest pressure, no light is visible between the jaws. There is no side to side play whatsoever. I'm sure there are ultra precision tools on a higher level. I'm sure they cost a whole lot more. These pliers are beautifully made and an incredible value.

I often find myself needing a set of non-marring pliers for holding nuts in tight spaces and other general work-holding. I also intend to use them for jewelry making, but have yet to do so. I searched around for awhile before settling on these. The cost is good for what they are and they suffice for my simple needs, but they also leave a lot to be desired. For one, the jaws in my set are slightly out of parallel and cannot be adjusted due to the construction method. The mechanics of the metal parts are slightly off, so the jaws actually change angle through their range of motion. For this reason, you can't simply file the jaws parallel; they'll only be parallel at the point you set, so if that's your thing, I guess you could try it. They work well enough for my needs to forgo this alteration. Another issue is they are quite small and the jaws don't open very far. The spring feels very uneven in tension throughout its range of motion. This, coupled with a very minimally textured handle, makes them difficult to use as they slip easily and are initially cumbersome to orient in your hand to overcome these issues. Now that I've grown accustomed to it, it's pretty natural, but still annoying. I'll be modifying the handles with some sort of grip and or extensions. On one hand, I kind of wish I had spent twice the money on a nice set. On the other hand, I'm glad I didn't because they're good enough and they're not critical to my needs.

The pliers work fine. They are pretty cheap but get the job done. I am someone with a smaller hand so these are uncomfortable. The resting position is open really wide, so it’s suitable mostly for a larger hand. I can get a grip on it okay but it is not the most ergonomic fit for a smaller hand. Sometimes they get stuck in the closed position.

I hope the set I got was defective and not suffering from a design flaw, as I requested a replacement. The jaws were smaller than they looked in the photo. They are very much shaped like standard needle nose pliers. That's what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, the jaws are at a slight angle which means they only really come together fully at the tip. That is different from the purpose of parallel pliers. I hope the replacement works correctly because, other than that, these seemed like they would be okay. Edit: The replacement has the same problem. These aren't parallel. With a lathe, you could fix them. It's too bad, as otherwise, these would have been great.
