Normally I'm an expensive mascara wearer, but I wanted a waterproof option I could keep in my travel bag as a backup. However, this might become one of my favorite products! I was really surprised with how much I liked this mascara. Soft is the perfect word to describe the look. Applying approximately 3 layers worked well to get the look I was going for - natural, soft, and defined. It built well and felt comfortable. The formula felt so light on my lashes, and I liked that it kept my lashes very defined. While the formula wasn't ideal for lengthening or curling, I think it would work well with a heated curler to give more height. Without it, it gives a gorgeous natural but full look. I found it extremely easy to remove and had no issues with smudging. I can't wait to keep using this, and I would've never expected to find this quality in a drugstore product.

I've used just your regular brand name mascara all my life, bought at the local drug store. The description said it made the lashes look Fuller, thicker, and my lases have thinned out now that I've aged, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Really didn't expect that it would do all it claimed. Have to report I was Very happy with the results. Took a couple times using it and then there was a very noticeable change, Everytime I applied it, lashes were noticeably thicker and Fuller. I tried this for an Aqua Zumba class - my face got splashed a lot, but was not under water. I rubbed my eyes a bit, but the mascara held. I emerged from the pool looking neither like Alice Cooper nor a member of KISS - I had nice full lashes. Great! The following week I did Aqua Zumba in the morning, sweat through 45 minutes at 74% on an elliptical in the afternoon, and then went to Aqua Extreme (Tabata in the pool) at 6. Although my mascara was not quite as full following the afternoon elliptical session, I did not look like I was about to audition for a bit part in The Walking Dead. Finally, after Aqua Extreme, I looked in the mirror, and the mascara was gone. No smudges, no racoon eyes, just no mascara. For a mascara to hold up to what I put it through, and have no tell-tale mascara running all over my face, it deserves at least 4 stars. (4.5 stars, because it did not make it through 3 workouts intact.) I think it performed incredibly well.

For years, I've been trying to find mascara that gives my thin, short lashes more volume without all the smudging, clumping, and uneven coating. I am not a mascara expert, but this stuff works! Up until now, I was using Chanel(which is a great brand, but burns a huge hole in my wallet). Not only did this Maybelline mascara cost less—it offered much more as a product in general. It gave me length, volume, and softness that I could never achieve before with other brands.

Sometimes I will try other mascaras to see if I'm missing out on something, but I keep coming back to my tried and true favorite. It gives my lashes a fuller and more defined look, and it's never flaky. I like that it removes easily waterproof eye makeup remover pads; some waterproof mascaras are so hard to remove that you end up pulling out precious lashes, but not this one. I hope Maybelline never stops making this!
