I want to talk about the moment I looked in the mirror after applying this powder and genuinely did not recognize my own face, not in a bad way, but in a "wait, is that me or someone who has their life together" kind of way. The quality of this pressed powder is legitimately impressive for the price point and that price point is the kind that makes you check the cart twice because surely something is wrong. Nothing is wrong. It's just good value, delivered without fanfare. The compact feels solid, the powder isn't chalky or dusty, and it doesn't launch itself onto your black shirt the second you open it, which is a lower bar than it should be but here we are. The Coconut shade is warm without going full terracotta, and it melts into the skin rather than sitting on top of it doing absolutely nothing, which is the quiet tragedy of bad setting powders everywhere. I ordered the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Face Powder in #355 Coconut back in late November 2023 and I am just now replacing it in 2026!!! That little 0.29 oz compact lasted me a full two years, which is VERY impressive considering I use it almost daily. The formula is lightweight, never cakey, and it does not clog my very large pores. It sets my makeup without feeling heavy and gives me a smooth, matte, even finish that looks like my skin but better. The shade 355 Coconut blends beautifully and keeps my chocolate brown complexion looking flawless without that dry, flat, corpse look some matte powders can give. I have tried loose powders, pressed powders, and some very expensive high end brands that everyone raves about. While a few of them were good, none of them made me stop reaching for this one. This has been my consistent go-to setting powder and I cannot say enough about it!!! If you are debating between spending a lot of money on a luxury brand or trying this, save your money and order this instead. I have documented my experience through photos, capturing my skin bare, immediately after applying the makeup, and then again 10 hours later to show how the products wear throughout the day. I use this powder to set my base, and it definitely does a decent job of blurring my pores. It is effective if your main goal is to hide visible pores, but you have to be very careful with how much you apply. The finish can look a bit like "painted-on" skin rather than a natural texture. If you apply too much, it quickly starts to look cakey and unnatural, almost like an illustration rather than real skin.
