I'm not sure I'd refer to the color of this matte lipstick as 'intense.' But it's definitely rich enough to provide good coloring and coverage, and I've found that it does help keep my lips from chapping. It goes on easily enough, but you may want to use liner as well. Once on and set, I noted very little smearing or blotting, and the lipstick smell is actually kind of nice. Recommended as a dupe for Clinique Color Pop in Plum Pop, but this is more hot pink and a little gravelly and drying after less than an hour. Not sticky. Plenty of color payoff when first applied. (More Mauve)
