I live in a Skoolie (converted school bus) and was looking for a flexible sleeping option that could fold out of the way when not in use. More than two weeks of sleeping on this mattress directly on hardwood floors and I can confirm it’s incredibly comfortable. I do not normally write reviews, but when I purchased this I was searching for a cost efficient mattress for my bare futon frame. I could not find ANY reviews on this product for that purpose that it was used for, so I figured I would write one for anyone looking to use this for a futon frame rather than on the floor. I purchased a standard full-sized futon from from Amazon. I was trying to find a futon matress below $100 - it was impossible. I came across this product and spent almost an hour going through reviews in hopes to find one stating someone used it for a futon and I couldn’t, so I went out on a whim and bought it since the floor mattress for its price had good reviews overall. IT IS PERFECT! Full-size mattress fits perfectly on my full-size futon frame with no issues, it is not super thick but I am only on hour 24 of the recommended 48 hours to inflate. BUT for the price range and its thickness at the moment, it is already worth the purchase. I’m sure it will not be as comfy as a standard matress since it will be only about 4inches thick, but I think it will be perfect for temporary overnight guests and worst comes to worse I can always purchase a mattress topper for it in the future. Overall, if you are looking to purchase this for a futon frame DO IT. It is a great product, packaged with care, and you cannot beat the price point for the great quality you receive. In about a week i plan to sleep on it to test it and will add to this review how comfy it was. Thank you for a great versatile product!! (Ps - the bulky cushions in the photo are pillows I added for comfortability, the mattress fits perfectly to the size of the futon:)

Overall, it’s a decent product, it is very comfortable to lay on and the overall quality of the product is acceptable. The price is pretty decent as well. The negatives I have against this product is for one; this is heavily marketed to people as being a Japanese product, but this product is in fact made in China. Secondly, I do not believe the product is as thick as they advertise, even when left in the sun to properly expand as they instruct. And unfortunately, since the product comes vacuum packed, and once you open it, it expands, there’s basically no way of returning this product that wouldn’t be extremely difficult. Still worth a buy if this is the kind of product you need, just be prepared for it to not be as thick as you’re expecting.

After letting it decompress for a day or two, it is extremely plush! My cat might love it more than I do lol. I put it on top of an air mattress for guests but I honestly almost took it for myself, it was so comfy. No weird smells out of the package and easy to fold up and stow away

I bought this futon mattress as an extra bed for guests. The numerous positive ratings and affordable price convinced me this was a good buy. Now I'm not sure whether I received a different item than the four- to five-star reviews ... Delivery was 3 days late. I unfolded mattress and left out to rise under the sun for more than the recommended 48 hours. The mattress appears comfortable and thick, but it is DEFINITELY NOT 4", and it is not as comfortable to sleep on as it is to sit on. I bought a 1.5" mattress topper to pad the mattress but didn't do much. I have since bought a frame and am hoping that this additional $225 will increase the comfort. Otherwise, this will be a regrettable purchase. Pros are that it is nice material, easy to fold and store in the bag that comes with the mattress, and there is also a zippered covering for the mattress (recommend to wash before using). If only the mattress were actually 4", I might have nicer things to say about it.

As long as you know what you're in for, this is a great mattress - its meant to be a hard surface to sleep on - it provides a slight cushion - as someone that understand the benefits of sleeping on a hard surface and having slept on the floor (fixed my back pain) this is a slight step up - the whole point of this mattress is to provide slight cushion while protecting you from extreme cold you might experience if you slept directly on the floor. Once you get used to sleeping on a Tatami a soft mattress becomes unbearable to sleep on.

There are something’s you have to consider before you buy this futon. 1. Can you sleep anywhere 2. Do you need princess quality comfort from a mattress to sleep 3. Do you have enough space to not need a foldable futon. If you answered yes to the first question, this futon is probably for you. I find it completely comfortable. However, I had my younger sister try it out and she was definitely not in love with how much harder it was compared to a full on mattress. Now if you are like my sister and like to sleep like a princess, I would consider getting the padded version of this mattress or even the 6” versions of this those would probably have more padding on them. I initially bought this mattress because our inflatable bed broke and while useful for when we have it I decided to buy something that doesn’t easily break. I am also on the stubborn side and saw that the other mattress from this company don’t have as many colors so opted for this one for 1. The color (it’s a nice red), 2. That I don’t have space in my dorm like bedroom when I have guests over, and 3. That the full size version of this futon not only fits but is also cheap. Take this review as a heads up before you buy and please consider all the options of what you specifically are looking for. For me this was perfect but for many it won’t be. I give a 8.5/10 from someone who has in fact slept on a college dorm floor.
