I bought this futon mat so I wouldn’t be stuck on a malfunctioning blow up mattress, and I’m glad I did. Our time at the efficiency apartment seems to be a never ending cycle. I had my doubts about it, but I find it to be comfortable. It’s not thick enough, so I can feel the floor beneath me still, but I’ve found since I began to sleep on this, that I’m not in as much pain as I used to be. That having been said, the straps to fold this thing up with are a nightmare, so I don’t bother to roll it up. The protective bag is a cheap joke as well. I'm not sure what the above review "Deceptive picture/advertisement" was expecting, but I think they may simply have been unaware of what they were buying. This is not an inflatable bed mattress like one might find elsewhere, this is specifically a futon mat. As a Japanese item, it's much lower profile and is intended more or less to be directly slept upon on the floor with much less padding than a regular US mattress. That said, this is quite comfortable for a futon mat, and the memory foam does a great job at keeping its shape. Having a cover is really the most important thing here to extend longevity as putting the entire mat in an oversized washing machine will shorten its lifespan considerably -- this is way bulkier than a comforter. It's a cute pattern, and the product as held up well so far. The "bag" is quite thin and really was only good for shipping it in, but the straps make it easier to roll up for longer storage and there are plenty of other ways to keep things tidy. It's a bit on the expensive side, but if you know what you're getting and treat it well I think it'll last a long time. ... show more

The cover to mattress has many flaws. The zipper is not fully sewn to the cover on the on spot about 4 inches long, the color is splotchy, and has streaks randomly on one side. The mattress is an alright thickness. The mattress expanded nicely. It has one unicorn that looks a bit double printed. Over all happy with this purchase. ... show more

Even with a nice bifold frame it feels hard to lay on for extended periods of time. I wish it were just a bit thicker, but my biggest issue by far was the pattern. If you've ever eaten in bed and kept finding crumbs in it afterwards and constantly feel the need to wipe it down, this has the exact same issue but without any of the crumbs. I wouldn't recommend it for that reason alone unless you plan on putting a mattress topper of some sort over it. ... show more

I was excited to get my bed, King Sized star version, until I realized that they sent both the wrong size AND color. Twin size in Bohemian. It's not even a color and size option available on this seller page. I got on the phone with customer service and explained, and they suggested I go to the UPS store to return the item, but for someone in my living situation, it's an extra expense. And I didn't want to make that expense on account of their mistake, having already shelled out $200 for the mattress I did want. Instead, they agreed to send a replacement and to keep the one mistakenly shipped at no charge. :) That was satisfactory. I'm hoping it sends correctly that time, but God willing, will update nonetheless about that one. Despite the reviews, I was surprised at how thick it actually appeared, even before airing it out (which I've just begun to do.) Some other photos showed a very 'deflated-looking' mattress so I was concerned, but this wasn't that at all. The photos you see are its thickness right out of the packaging! It's folded in half for space while it airs out..as I have limited room and don't want it ruined by pets...yet..but it's very plush looking. And for a twin, I'll comment on that one since it's what I have, it looks 'large' for a twin, which was also pleasantly surprising. I've yet to try it out, but looking forward to it, as I've had recent back pain and don't mind being a floor sleeper. The print is also beautiful. God bless, thank you. Jesus loves us. Great buy..at least I can speak for this version, lol. EDIT: The twin puffed to 3.5 inches. :) Comfy. But I didn't try it out until the king size I ordered came in the mail. I got my original order, the king size, in a timely manner. It's a huge beast! I gave it about a day or day and a half to puff up in indirect sunlight. The ruler shows its (out of the box) measurement. After fluffing, it was around 2.5 to 3 inches (depending on the area measured) so a bit uneven but no complaints. I didn't have room to try it on the floor, but it is topping my Queen memory foam mattress (the king can fold to fit, praise Jesus) and I've slept well on it. My pets love it. And my former hip and back pain is gone. I also put my twin on top of 'that' (weird but personal preference) and all the more comfortable. Even when it (the pain) tried to come on, the futon died it down not long after. Praise the Lord. 10/10 very happy with my purchase. ... show more

Bought this mattress as a replacement for one we already had , but of a different brand, hoping it was as good or better...Decently sized ,as we bought the full, however it didn't shape out to be very fluffy or as shown in picture. It looks like a decent mattress but it doesn't fill out that much. The cover that came with it is made of very cheap fabric and already had a hole in the fabric at the zipper seem.. We are using it as a camp bed in our SUV for camping, and outdoor living but it will definitely need another cushion added with it, as it isn't very comfy. Doing the job but is only going to work temporarily unfortunately. We spent less on our previous floor mattress and of much better quality and was hoping it was a better version but nor really. ... show more

I love this purchase because I've been wanting this mattress so badly since my kids would need it. I'm happy that it comes with a zipper sheet and a bag for storage, however, it's very pricey.
