The power cord on our washing machine is made of heavy rigid plastic that sticks out very far from the end of the cord. Our garage has a small raised section of concrete above the garage floor for placing the washer and dryer. In order to get the washing machine to fit within the raised section of concrete we had to bend the power supply cord 90 degrees at the plug. Over time this damaged the wires inside the cord and caused the washing machine to recognize inconsistent power delivery, and even shut off, due to the bend in the cord. After replacing the power cord of the washer I purchased this extension cord with a flat plug that would enable us to place the washer much closer to the wall than before withoout damaging the integrity of the internal wires of the supply cord. ... show more

I think that they replaced it. I left a review a few days ago stating how I purchase this off of other customer reviews talking about how they were able to run it under their doors to power outside lights. I tried this (actually to power a heavy duty outdoor surge protector for my cameras). But when I shut the door there was a spark with a loud pop and everything in the living room went out. It flipped the breaker. I ordered another, to try out the window like a neighbor… We ran it out the window yesterday (too thick to close and we just re entered winter! Anyway, I’m confused because here I am with another brand new Maximm cord when I only purchased the two! Not always the one to open my packages, and can’t find a delivery update or an email stating anything in particular about this third cord. Maximm/Amazon, if you see this, thank you! This worked perfectly for what I needed. I specifically needed something flat that could run up and around a door frame without sticking out or creating a tripping hazard, and this fit the bill. The flat wire design makes a big difference for tight spaces. I secured it with double-sided tape and, so far, it’s holding up great. The flat plug is also helpful for keeping things flush against the wall. This is well made, but the male plug is ground lug down. I bought the flat cord rather than a round one so it would fit under a door. A round 14 gauge cord would bind the door and probably get damaged. We shall see how it holds up with a 15k space heater plugged in. So far the cord is not even getting warm from the power draw. ... show more
