I have lots of thin, curly, frizzy hair and have tried all kinds of products to help control the frizz. This is the best I've found. It really helps control the frizz and hold the wave without being heavy. You don't need a huge amount. I gently put into my hair, scrunch, and then air dry. I still have some frizz - always will with my hair - but it's much better. If you use too much it will make your hair feel goopy so make sure to use a small amount and then add more if you need to. ... show more

For many years, I used Biosilk's Rock Hard Gelee as a hard-hold gel for my fine waves. I wanted a clean, vegan alternative, and found it in this MGA gel. While it's not quite as hard-holding as the Biosilk one, I love that it's vegan, clean, and still Curly-Girl-Method-approved. You only need a small amount, so one tube lasts me forever.     • Watch out for white flakey dust
I was looking for a natural and organic hair gel for African-American hair and I love the ingredients. However, this leaves a lot of white flaky dust and I only use a quarter size amount. I bought a really small portion so I’ll continue to use it until it runs out, but may not buy this again.

This is a strong hold hair gel. They have light hold which is called "Styling gel". This one called "Sculpting gel" is really allowing you to sculpt the hair. Is great for shorter hair or if you want to create sleak styles on long hair. This gel has fresh citrus scent. It really holds hair in place all day. Very important-no dry flakes! It is concentrated, you don't need much. Safe and healthy ingredients, mostly organic and wildcrafted. No nasties like PVP or silicones. I am no expert on ingredients but I have been looking to help my scalp be cleaner from flakes. This supposedly said it is more healthy and leaves no buildup. Maybe it is but I sure still have flakes. The worst part is that this gel is way more noticeable as it can build a crust on top of your hair as it can dry white like a film. I had some on my ear and it became all cracked and flaky until I rubbed it all off. The price for this small bottle is not worth it. Now I have to watch where i put the gel before i embarrass myself with this white crust. The only pro i see is that it does hold well. ... show more
