Our niece lives abroad most of the year and stays with us in the summers. While she's definitely a minimalist, she still needed space to organize her things while here. I needed something cost-effective and functional -- quickly. I found these cubes and thought, for the price, I'd give them a shot. The cloth material seems like it will be too weak and too flimsy when you take it out of the packaging. However, once it is in place, it becomes taut and sturdy. I struggled with the instructions at first -- but that really was a "me" thing -- and once I got the understanding of the set up, the instructions were easy to follow. You can re-organize the cubes in multiple ways and essentially create more space throughout your room. Everything felt flimsy initially, but once constructed, the unit is very stable. I don't recall if they have shelving in any other color but black. I'd probably still choose black for that room. This setup gave her space to organize and sort her clothing. I probably wouldn't place things heavy, like books, on any of the upper shelves. The bottom shelves may be able to handle it. Definitely a good buy for what I needed. ... show more

I got it to organize my fabrics, yarn, and other craft supplies. I needed something fairly priced and something I could assemble without help. When I placed my order I was a little worried because it didn’t seem like I could get much quality for such low price. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It took me no time to put together. You don’t need any extra tools, just some common sense and a pair of hands. I just put it together, do I cannot say how well it is going to work. So far it seems that it is exactly what I needed. I would not purchase it if I needed a bookshelf or storage for something heavy. It is more of a craft supplies organizer or a closet organizer. Great deal for the price! ... show more

It was easy to assemble...somehow. looks sturdy but we had 2 jammed poles for some reason. The reason for not full 5 stars, because I was hoping between the cubes, it would have been more sturdy and not getting hold together by poles, so that we can put stuff on there better Its light weighted so you can really carry it around, before you put stuff on there of course. Terrible! Says 30lbs... not per shelf for sure!! Two poles started to buckle within a day of starting to fill with books and games.. The entire thing fell apart in pieces after more than half full Horrible! It's maybe 20 lbs total which would be like maybe one pound per shelf! So sad.. all the time wasted not just putting this together but organizing kid's curriculum, books and games for it to come crashing down on top of me. So glad my toddler wasn't standing in front of it when it shelves failed!! ... show more

Such a great product for the price. It’s not the most sturdy, but for my use to organize supplies and canvases in my studio it’s perfect. I wouldn’t recommend using in a room with small children or cats that might try climbing it, bc if it gets handled roughly it would eventually fall apart (but be very easily fixed.) What I love about it is how lightweight it is for the size, and how much stuff it can hold. You can assemble the whole thing and easily lift it by yourself with zero straining, move it around, assemble it in different arrangements, etc. It’s so functional and handy. Yes, the shelves are made of fabric, but that makes it light and affordable. I have no complaints! ... show more

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love these shelves! They are much sturdier than my old modular cubes and have completely changed the way I organize my room. One thing I discovered that wasn't obvious from the listing is that the wire shelves are strong enough to support trays. I can put a tray inside a cubby and use it like a pull-out drawer for things like lotions, perfume, or other small items. That made these shelves even more versatile than I expected. I also love that I can leave frequently used items out in the open instead of hiding everything in fabric bins. Being able to actually see my books, tumblers, and supplies makes it much easier to stay organized. Assembly took some effort (make sure the panels are fully snapped together), but once assembled they feel sturdy and easy to reconfigure. I like that I can change the layout later if my needs change. Overall, these shelves made my room feel brighter, more open, and much more functional. I would definitely buy them again. ... show more

    • Hard to build and comes apart

It is not easy to build. Pegs come out of the holes when the shelf is used a lot. I have one at work for my purse and lunch box at the side and the bars keep coming out. This is best for storage not daily use If you don’t build one 12 box unit you have pieces left over and don’t get the full set of boxes. I bought this one to add to my current one at home and it’s really hard to do The original shelf came apart and I had to take it down and rebuild it with the new pieces. Have a lot of pegs left because there are not enough black pieces (connectors) build more. They used to give a little wooden hammer and now it’s a cheap small plastic one that does not work as well. Overall it is good if you build it right and want one 12 unit shelf ... show more
