The stools are solid but poor manufacturing make them tricky to assemble. Several of pilot holes for the pocket screws were stripped. 2 of 8 on one stool and 4 of 8 on the other. Directions say to screw together the short cross pieces to the legs without glue, glue and screw the long pieces, THEN attach the legs to the seat. Unfortunately, If the pilot holes are stripped, I suggest this modification to the instructions: Attach the legs loosely to the seat First. Then glue all 8 mortise joints, install the pocket screws, and finish by tightening the legs bolts to the seat. I ran a strip of glue on the screws going into the stripped holes. Since all the pieces are glued, sit on the stool to ensure the legs all touch the floor, then let the glue dry. After about four weeks, both stools are solid. ... show more

Although this stool is wooden, a finish has been applied that makes it look and feel not genuine. Assembly took an hour+ and much to my surprise, 4 essential screws were missing. For some reason the manufacturer could not send me these four screws that should have been included in the original packaging. I had to speak to Amazon Customer Service who gave me a $10 credit toward purchasing the screws that were needed, so that was a bit inconvenient. The stool was a little rocky and I had to put a pad under one of its legsTo keep it steady. But I must say it’s a nice looking piece of furniture. ... show more
