I picked up a pair of Maui Jim Onshore polarized sunglasses, and I’ve been very impressed. The lenses are excellent—they cut glare really well without being overly dark, which makes them comfortable to wear for extended periods. The fit is spot-on, and they look great too (always a bonus—my wife approves, which says everything). Overall, they’re comfortable, high-quality, and do exactly what you want a good pair of sunglasses to do. The only downside is the included accessory. They come with a nice cleaning cloth in a case, but honestly, a sunglass strap to wear them around your neck would have been far more useful. Aside from that, a great purchase. I tried both this and the "Local Kine" wrap version while trying to find a new favorite "premium" set of shades. I liked these a lot, but preferred the coverage and look of the "wrap" better on my head. These were returned. My thoughts overall, cribbed from my review of the wrap version: After many attempts with cheaper sunglasses, I decided to go back to my long-ago favorite Maui Jim's. It's a world of difference. Super clear, polarization works beautifully. I can read with them on, even in the brightest sunlight. The UV blocking works as advertised (as proven by my sunburn "mask" recently). I love the mirroring effect and distinctive blue color. I've included cropped photos of how these sunglasses fit on my large noggin (L/XL hat-size). The Maui Jim sizing guidelines are accurate, although they don't match what other brands use (where these would be a medium aka "too tight"). There's also a clever new case that's barely larger than the sunglasses, very lightweight (but sturdy) and folds completely flat. A vast improvement over the bulky old cases. Honestly I cringe at spending so much on sunglasses, but the quality is notably, palpably better than even 50-100 dollar models. Glass lenses instead of plastic make a huge difference in refraction. The build is solid. But one word of advice? Get some sunglass "keepers" (cord that fits the ends of the earpieces) so your expensive new purchases with glass lenses doesn't end up on the ground (or in the ocean). Recommended. ... show more

These are really nice high end sunglasses. Very comfortable on my temples. I think this is the best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned. I’m used to cheap pairs from the drug store, and these are a vast improvement in visual clarity in the bright Arizona sun. I’m very happy with my purchase.

    • Highest optical purity lenses from Maui Jim
These are the ultra thin glass lenses which offer the highest optical purity per Maui Jim. At first I didn't think these were glass because these feel really light and are lighter than my 20 year old Maui Jim's with glass lenses. The frames have the spring-back temples and the temples and nose bridge have integrated rubber pads for grip. These look and feel like a high quality product (gloss black frames with grey lenses). I like the style of these glasses, and I would’ve kept them if they sat on your face straight. They are very crooked when you put them on your face, you can feel it and see it. Someone else had commented about them fitting crooked, but I tried . Either these are fake or they are very poorly made unfortunately For Maui Jim. I love their sunglasses, but when you spend this kind of money, they better be perfect! ... show more
