Sturdy and made well. We didn’t drill but used the adhesive it came with. We put this up between our kitchen and dining room with a shower curtain (looks better than it sounds I promise) but anyway the point is, it’s had some wear but no tear! It has stayed put even with dogs and kids. I recommended it to a friend already but I’ll say it here too - get it.

I LOVE these shower curtain rods! Not only are they spring loaded, but they also come with the wall brackets that help support the rods. After months and years of having my tension rods fall for no reason I switched to these and they have NEVER fallen. Easy to install and remarkably sturdy. Never seen rust on them and this was my 3rd purchase in the 10 years of owning my home. The shower curtain rings fit on it nicely as well.

Multi piece pole. Just fyi it comes in multiple short pieces for easy shipping. All the pieces then thread together. Seems sturdy enough we’ll see over time but so far happy with the look and quality.

Overall Excellent Value - Plenty Sturdy - Segmented Design is Not Ideal

We ordered two different rods in order to choose which we liked the best and while each had its own tradeoffs, both were quite nice. This bar seems to over the best value and can be sold for less since the shipping box is tiny, it came in 5 segments. The segmented design is probably the only thing we don't like -- it produces a much noisier shower curtain as the hooks drag across all those threaded sections. Beyond that, the color is great, design is simple and attractive, build quality isn't premium but still exceeds its price AND includes these handy adhesive hooks...though they are ugly and don't fit the design language of the rod. So if the segmented design doesn't bother you, this actually is a great rod. We ended up choosing the other rod because, again, the threads made too much noise for our taste. The bar we are comparing it to ( https://amzn.to/45p0B5O ) has just two sections, therefore 1 ridge. It is also shown against this bar the attached pictures. Both are nice, you'll have to choose your priorities.
