Let me be clear here: I drink Mountain Dew on a regular basis, so when I say something is too sweet.....then it must be crazy sweet. But this stuff is too sweet even for me. I essentially feel like its high fructose corn syrup with fake lemon flavor added. But the biggest sin this product makes is that it doesn't produce anything remotely resembling a whiskey sour as advertised. It essentially will just turn your whiskeys, scotches, and bourbons into some sort of lemon fruit juice drink. Also the ratios listed on the bottle of juice vs whiskey is WAAAAAY out of whack. Pair down the amount of juice they recommend and double your whiskey at the very least; but this still tastes nothing like a whiskey sour. If you want a mixer that will make your whiskey, bourbon or scotch to taste more like candy lemonheads rendered into a liquid form, then I guess you may enjoy this stuff. But it says that it is a whiskey sour mix, and that is not what this is at all. Not even close. So for the reasons of it being ridiculously sweet and misleading on what it claims to do, I can't give this a recommendation. ... show more

It is the same exact ingredients as regular sweet and sour mix. Save a few bucks and do not pay for the word Whiskey.

If you asked my fellow, he'd insist that this is the ONLY acceptable whiskey sour mixer on the market. Is that true? We may never know. I can tell you, though, that his stubborn faith in certain products does leave him with slight tunnel vision.. We did test it against the powder version made by Bar Keepers Friend. One packet of that powder mix yields something like a 4oz drink, if I recall correctly. We're boozehounds by no means, but come on - 4 oz. does not make a sour. We had to use two powder packets to mix a regular size drink, and in the end, it didn't have quite the tangy kick you get with the liquid Master of Mixes. At any rate, in NYC we have a very difficult time finding this mixer. The 6-pack is way too much product for us, but it was the most economical solution. We now have enough to last us through the next year. Or two. ... show more

Virtually impossible for something to rate as too sweet or salty in my book. But my impression of this mix was not whiskey sour but whiskey high fructose corn syrup. Impossible for me to enjoy.

Worth it for my significant other as she likes it with her whiskey. She said it's a common and safe mixer that is used frequent in bars so I would recommend.
