I bought several of these initially found them to be adequate. One by one over the course of a year they would stiffen and finally fail to open. Had to resort to a hammer and drift punch to get them open. In addition, even when they work you can't scramble the combo unless you re- lock them. I dreaded this given the gradual stiffening of the shackle mechanism. One other annoyance is the rubber weather flap constantly falls off. All-in-all these are just a pain to use. I've been replacing them with ABUS combo locks with good result. ... show more

I really like these Master locks, I have ordered several of these for almost all my uses. I don't like carrying around a bunch of keys so I use the combination locks. These are extremely heavy duty and easy to use. They hold up to weather pretty well. Sometimes they slightly get a little bit of white crusty corrosion on some portions when they are in contact with a different type of metal but definitely never rust. Good quality lock and wood. Have been using them for about a month now and the only complaint is that the rubber flap that covers the combination constantly falls off.
