I bought this to replace a stolen lock (left unlocked). Worked for a month, then will not unlock with the current combination. Very frustrating. Suggest it be taken off the market.

The lock arrived with the end broken off. I purchased this MASTER lock brand because I assumed their quality control would be higher than the no-name brands. I was wrong. A plastic piece which is supposed to hold the metal cable into the housing was broken. Really poor design. I returned this for a refund and will be looking for something else. ... show more

Easy to use and reset your combination. Problem is that it is TOO easy to reset your combination. When unlocking and locking, if you’re not careful in where you grab to pull the ends apart, the settings move. We have locked ourselves out a few times now and had to figure out which number moved. Just don’t pull with your thumbs on the moving part and you’ll be fine. Other than that, it is great quality. A little stiff, but I’m sure that will work itself out over time. Not sure if it’s actually 6’ long as the coil is so stiff, we can’t pull it more than about 5ft. If you really need that last foot of length, maybe try a longer one or a non-coil type. ... show more

The part that has the locking mechanism is cheap plastic. My bike was stolen literally within 24h of locking it outside. So some part of the lock was bad enough it was easy to break. Other bikes outside my apartment are still there so clearly it was my lock.

I really like the bungee locks like this since they are so much easier to wrap around things like a light post or tree when a bike rack isn't available. Also, the less keys I have the better so combination is totally the way to go. This style still has the potential of being clipped compared to a U-lock but if your bike is relatively cheap I suggest this over a U-lock. Have been using for two years now. Seriously though, if your bike is worth over like $200 then just get a U-lock, otherwise this is a great purchase. ... show more

This lock is not what I expected. A detailed measurement/description of cable thickness would have been helpful. It turns out that the cable itself is super thin. The housing seems flimsy and cheap. It wouldn’t take much manipulation to break. That being said it is not a lock that I would use to lock my bike when out of sight for an extended period of time. If used it would be ideal for a ride to the store for a quick in and out only. I ended up giving the lock to my wife because she doesn’t ride her bike as transportation as I do (leaving it in various places from time to time). I chose a much more robust Abus cable lock instead. Of course it’s better than nothing. But as the old adage goes “You get what you pay for!” So, if you can afford it spend a bit more and look to buy a thicker cable lock. It’s ideal to try and do this type of purchase in person if you can. As it stands I don’t recommend it. Hope that helps. ... show more

This is a nice chain/rope lock for a bike. It has nice length to lock up to almost anything. I would say that this thickness could still get cut by a lock cutter. I use this as my 2nd lock with a U-Lock since I live in Chicago and bikes get stolen a lot. If you're not too worried about this, then this lock would be great. ... show more
