My husband is a drummer and likes to have little drum pads or electric drums for in the house. I got this for funsies. It's actually pretty cool.. my kids like it more than he does though! It's decent quality with practice sticks. Sound quality is alright. May be not for pros but fun for kiddos.

The Electronic Drum Practice Pad is a drumming revelation. Its realistic rubberized surface provides an authentic feel. The pad it well built and is sturdy. The versatility of pre-loaded kits and customizable sounds, coupled with responsive dynamics, makes for a great playing experience. I've been a drummer for over 40 years and I thought I would just despise this thing, but I really enjoy getting the sticks out and throwing down some beats. At night when everyone is asleep I use it. Less distractions that way. It's nice because the headphone jack allows for silent practice, and provides decent sound quality into my headphones. It is perfect for late-night sessions, provided that tapping on the pad won’t wake other people up. I got a bit rambunctious on one occasion and it woke my son up. So I had to turn over the drumsticks to him and let him go at it for a while. The has a built-in midi connection which is invaluable for recording those perfect beats so they can be mixed other tracks and instruments forming the perfect harmony that makes up that thing we call music. Plus, its portability makes it a go-to for practice on the fly. I've taken it on several occasions to friends and relatives homes, and they enjoyed hearing it and playing it, just as much as we have . In short, this drum practice pad is a compact, versatile, and good-quality solution for beginner drummers serious about their craft. I remember practicing learning to play the drums on one snare drum between the hours (minutes) of 6:30-6:45 pm and then parents are done. Not with this one! The kids are happy banging away with headphones on any time of the day, music to my ears. I really love how versatile this is! The foot petals, the different music demos, the recording feature, and this is so easy to carry and take with you. Love all the options to this! A great little drum starter kit to let your little ones rock-out with the best of them to those old rock anthems! This device has a selection of its own looped music to join in with to get them started and comes with volume and tempo adjustment controls. Of course, you could also always toss them a pair of headphones too, and let them subject themselves to their own torture?!?! A good quality set of drum sticks along with 2 foot pedals to add to the adjustment drum control, just to give them that realistic feel of foot timing, mixed in with hand timing. Not easy. Small gripes are that I am not sure just how much stomping on those foot pedals it would take, as they are only thin plastic. Also, the drums need to be hit precisely on the respective fake drum-skin pads to get the device to create the drum-beat sound. That will take some practice, for sure! Overall the quality is not bad, but for the price that is being suggested at, I would think that a some better on-board rock sounds and melody's would have been nice, and definitely more sturdier foot pedals to make this set truly worth what they are asking. So dust off you old air guitars and join in with your kids to get that nostalgic, but glorious hideously awful music sound that we all started with, as kids! ... show more

For a family that does not have room for a full size drum set, this is great! My kid plays other instruments, and asked about the drums. When I found this online, I ordered it right away. It is exactly what I was looking for, in hopes that my kid could get the same sounds from what a real set compares to. This is basic, but covers everything we needed. Easy to set up and use immediately after unboxing. My kid plays it everyday for at least 30 minutes by watching online videos with lessons. ... show more

    • Great for building rhythm and dynamics
My son had his first year of middle school electives where he took band as sports were not available yet. He really wanted to play the drums, but the poor guy is just too uncoordinated and cannot keep rhythm very well. Since getting this practice pad I have seen a significant improvement in his rhythm and coordination. It comes in at pennies on the dollar of a real drum set along with the peace of mind and quietness with the headphone connectivity (huge plus!) Hopefully, with enough practice, he will be able to play the instrument he wants to next year! ... show more

There's really no good place to put these to where practice makes sense. the arrangement isn't quite right and it doesn't always register being hit properly sometimes.

    • These sound amazing and take up less space than a full drum set
So thay are made of a thick material that should hold up over time. Super easy to use.just plug and play. They sound great. My only issue is that you have to hit just right or they don't make a sound which can be frustrating when you seem to hit it in the same spot but it doesn't make a sound. I'm sure as I use them I will get used to where the sweet spot is. They are a great item for kids or adults that enjoy music or make their own beats. ... show more
