  • Best realistic digital Hihat on the market!! Bets Kit Ever!!
Color: Black
I was 110% impressed with the entire setup! Being an adult 6ft 225lbs I needed to buy a new throne but the kit is really worth it, the full sized 12in highhat alone was worth the price! This highhat is the 1st digital, correctly working adjustable realistic highhat I have ever seen made! The sounds are spot on during all phases of open close, pressure of pedal etc!! Just like the real thing, from soft pedal to hard pedal you can hear the difference. Very Impressed!! The metal is heavy & very thick & highly chromed, weighs a little more than my regular highhat. The dual programable drum heads & rims are great & Super responsive from very light soft sounding taps all the way through to hard loud hits they are right on the money! Great mesh material feels real & fully adjustable like real heads for responce. The sounds that come with the board are spot on amazing, no cheap crappy sounds here, over 400 professional sounds all the way & every sound can be adjusted for pitch, reverb, & volume giving you millions of combinations. The frame is super stable made of powder coated metal tubing, very ridgid ,all connectors are double bolted with about 3in of tubing slide in on both ends of the very thick brackets. the size was perfect for me & my height. You can loosen a few connectors & fold in the unit so its out of the way when not in use. Very low noise level for in home playing, The headphones suprized me, very good sound & if you want it loud you can turn it up!, seperate loudness controlls for your kit & your cell. All chords are perfect lengths, you have 2 extra ports to add another tom & cymbol, Super happy with this purchase, couldn't ask for more! Get one you will be amazed ! ... show more

  • Best Hardware for the Price
Color: Black
I did a lot of research of electronic drum sets before purchasing this one and this was by far the most value for the money. My priority was to get the feel as close to a real kit as possible within my budget and I'm really happy with this kit for that reason. Pros: - The mesh heads on this set feel great. Mesh is the new standard over rubber because it's quieter and feels more like a real drum. I tested some e-kits at guitar center in the $3000+ range and as a newbie I could feel no difference between hitting one of those heads and hitting these - The hi-hat on a moving stand is a rare feature at this price. I only started seeing this type of hi-hat around the $2000 range of drum sets. It really helps the kit feel more real - The drums are large for this price point. 10-inch snare is great, and 8-inches feels just fine for the toms. - The drums are "dynamic" so you can hit them soft for quieter sounds, but honestly I haven't figured this out yet. The settings seem to change what "soft" is but the default leans too heavily to the "loud" sound for quite soft hits. Hoping to get it tuned right for me. - The ride is "triple zone" which means you can hit the bell like on a real kit. It can also "crash" but I really only care about the bell option - The kit also comes with a third tom and second crash which is a great value at this price point - The frame is pretty solid. I haven't had problems with it feeling too flimsy - The footprint is pretty small. I was worried I couldn't fit a drum set in my room, but it takes more width up than depth which was perfect for my scenario. The frame arms can swivel a bit too if you need to save space when not playing Cons: - The chair is very cheap. At 240 pounds, I completely bent it from normal use sitting on it. Aklot sells a saddle-type drum throne I bought to replace it which is a massive upgrade - The kick drum pedal is very cheap. It's great to have a physical beater at all at this price, but even after tightening the spring as far as I can, it's just way too weak to get good speed when hitting the kick drum pad - The kick drum pad mounts to the frame so when you hit it, the whole frame can shake a bit. Not a big deal, but a downgrade from an independent pad which more expensive kits will have. - The drums can have problems with making the rim sound when you hit the pad. It's very annoying, but settings in the module can often fix it, and if not I got a replacement through support after a bit of back and forth. Overall I'm very happy with this kit. It's the best hardware you can get for the price. I've outlined my gripes with it, but at <$500 the pros far outweigh the cons for me. Also my 1-year old likes to play it if I let him. ... show more

  • Great, Quiet, Dynamic E-Kit with Modular Capabilities, But Received Defective Ride Cymbal
Color: Black
I purchased this e drum kit as a beginning who has wanted to learn drumming for a long time. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. I only have two real criticisms. First, my ride cymbal simply does not work. If I hit the ride 25 times, about 20 of those times I'll get the same sound as the crash cymbal, and the other 5 times I'll get completely inconsistent ride sounds. I also am not able to trigger the ride bell at all. I've contacted customer support with the issue and will update this review depending on that experience. THIS RIDE CYMBAL ISSUE IS THE ONLY REASON I'M NOT GIVING THE KIT 5 STARS AT THIS POINT. Second is a smaller point. But while the setup and installation is fairly straightforward, I do think some of the reviews overstate that simplicity. The instructions provided with the kit really aren't very helpful or clear. And the build video provided, while helpful, glosses over and skips several in-between steps. Fortunately, the actual mechanical design is fairly intuitive so it's relatively simple to figure stuff out. But I say this just to say if you have some frustration in setting up the kit, you're not alone. A few other notes / comments after using this product for about a week now: 1) PRO. The e-kit is very modular in terms of ability to adjust the height and location of the pads and cymbals. It is easy to move things around for your comfort level which I find very helpful. 2) PRO. The fact that you get an actual dual cymbal hi-hat is fantastic, and one of the main reasons I bought this kit in particular. Most just have an orphan pedal, but this one allows you to actually practice opening and closing. I also like that the kit has two crash cymbals. 3) PRO. The system console has a lot of useful and helpful options and settings. For instance, the pads allow a lot of customization for sound, sensitivity, and strike force. The pad does give louder or softer sounds depending on velocity, and the various kits available are also nice to play around with different genres and types of music. I also appreciate the ability for rim shots. However, I would note the options may seem a bit confusing. Thankfully, everything is adequately explained in the operating manual. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading that entire manual as it really does answer a lot of questions you will probably have. 4) PRO. The foldability of the kit makes it easy to store. I had serious space concerns given I live in an NYC apartment, but you're able to fold everything such that both sides collapse into 90-degree angles. 5) PRO. The kit really is not that loud at all. I thankfully have nobody living below me, but even if I did, I can't imagine the kit would bother them that much as it is, and at most would require maybe a sound absorption pad under the kick. 6) CON. I don't think this was explained that well in the video or instructions guide, but use 3.5mm headphones and put that in the "PHONES" jack on the console. I was confused because I receive 6.5mm headphones that I could only put into the R or L/Mono channel. And putting into the L/Mono channel still only played it out of one ear. 7) CON. This is obvious, but of course not shown in the pictures: there are a lot of wires. I highly recommend getting cable ties to manage them. They look pretty ugly otherwise and can get in the way. Overall, I am pleased with the kit and have enjoyed beginning my drum journey. Once I get the ride cymbal issue fixed, I would give this a five-star rating. If you're considering it, I highly recommend it for beginners. ... show more

  • Worth the inverstment
Color: Black
I have to admit I am extremely happy with this drum set. The drums themselves are quite responsive, have a great feel. No cheap feel. A real high hat with pedal, not the stomp pedals on other. Cymbals are great and the choke feature works excellent. Kick pedal rocks. Easy to set up and easy to configure to fit yourself comfortably. I'm an average size male 6'0 and it fits me great. Much nicer than a "beginner" set tho it would work for newbies and also for those experienced drummers looking for a kit to play or use for quiet practices at home. The drum sounds are pretty darn good, but I use it mostly through my DAW with drum VST's. One other pluses here, one of my crash cymbals' choke functionality didn't work when first received. I contacted their customer service, and they couldn't be more accommodating and helpful. We worked thru a series of tests and once the problem was confirmed, they immediately sent me a new crash cymbal. I am quite satisfied, and for the value and price, these drums are amazing. ... show more

  • Aklot, a remarkable e-Drum kit for its price.
Color: Black
The Aklot e-drums were packed very well, and nothing damaged. The kit has everything you need, even an extra pair of sticks. The quality of the edrums are very good. The rack is a very sturdy anodized aluminum. It's perfect that an actual Hi-Hat comes with the kit, and performs rather well. The drum heads are of equal quality, allow rim shots and compare to that of more expensive kits. The module is understandably basic, but replicates drum sounds well that can be tweaked. There's enough samples to make playing the kit very enjoyable. Altogether, the price paid is terrific for what you get. ... show more

  • Pretty big bangs for the bucks...Updated
Color: Black
I bought this set of drums for recording purposes and casual jamming in my home studio. The seller sent it right away and I received a big box 3 days later. It was packaged really well with lots of protection and everything listed arrived in perfect condition. Although there are no instructions, the available videos made set up super easy and I was done within 30 mins. I connected to my pc via usb, started my PreSonus Studio One, opened a song, inserted a instrument track, put Steven Slate Drums on that track, then opened it and the Aklot drums were already assigned as triggers. It could not have been any easier to fine tune the assignments to 19 sounds within the SSD kit I picked, after some adjustments to some parameters in the Aklot module. I contacted Aklot customer service to inquire where and how could I buy another tom and cymbal pad, to take advantage of the expansion option. A rep there replied quickly and was super nice about fulfilling my order for the two extra pads, and I will have them soon. That will bring the total of triggers to 23. So far, the drum players I have had play the kit are impressed by the sturdy build, adjustable mesh heads, a true high hat stand and feel the kit compares to those that cost much more. I am impressed by the consistent trigger response and available dynamic range throughout the zones. I am glad I did some extra shopping and took the chance this kit would function like more expensive kits, as advertised. After adding a double bass pedal, 2 legged hi hat stand and a fancy throne, this kit is everything I was looking for and I don't think I could be happier. -UPDATE- So, I have had the kit for a while and still feel like it is the best buy for the money. I has worked perfectly and even better with the super comfy high back throne, 2 legged hi hat stand to accommodate the double bass pedals, a 4th cymbal and 4th tom. Those super expensive kits don't have much more to offer than what I have here...And that's a fact! ... show more

Great drum set. Lots of variety in drum sounds. Only negative the highest loudness output is still pretty low and you hear yourself hitting the drums.

  • Versatile Electric Drum Kit with TWO Crash Cymbals
Color: Black
This is a fantastic beginner drum set. I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to do so here. I chose this set over other comparably priced sets because it has a second crash cymbal, which suits my playstyle more than only having a single crash cymbal between the hi-hat and first tom. The frame allows for positioning of the individual components the way that I want. For example, I didn't like having the ride cymbal in the position just above the second tom, which was the "default" position in the instructions, so I switched the positioning of the ride and the second crash. I also like the different percussion sounds available for configuration. I wasn't a fan of any of the 20 kit presets as a whole, so my first task was to create a custom configuration from the available sounds. The instructions weren't clear to me as to how to go about doing this, but Aklot customer service has been wonderful. They sent me an updated user manual, and also walked me through the basic configuration options. I was able to configure not only the core sounds for each component, but also the strike sensitivity and volume for each piece, with ease once I understood the options. The kit itself is compact and fits nicely in a small space. The assembly was quite easy, and Aklot's video for this helped tremendously, as well as Aklot having labeled each component, including connection wires (mostly). A couple of things to note. First, the instructions aren't clear on this, but there are two connector cables for the hi-hat, one for the top, the other for the bottom. The top cable is labeled "hi-hat", and the bottom cable is labeled "hh-ctrl". Also, the second crash cymbal's cable isn't part of the main connector cable set, and is unlabeled and separately packaged. I originally though this cable was the cable "out" to an external amplifier. I'd also recommend getting some cable ties/organizers to help control the many connectors. In terms of external connections, I've not tried the MIDI interface yet, so I can't comment to it. The headphones that come with the set are passable, but I swapped it out for another set that I had. For when I don't use the headphones, I don't have a separate amp, so I use the Aux output to connect an old Beolit speaker that had been collecting dust (using a 6.5mm to 3.5mm adapter). The bluetooth audio connection to a mobile device also works well to connect to music sources. I've been using a YouTube Music playlist with drum tracks to play along with, and the sound properly goes through either the headphones or through the Aux output speaker. I do have some minor nits, with the first being that when you turn on the set, it goes back to the default preset configuration, and I have to re-select my custom/user configuration setting (I set it at USER20 so that I could get to it quickly by pressing the "left" button once rather than having to scroll through all the presets to get to USER01). Not a big deal, but it would still be nice if the kit could "remember" the last used setting. The next nit I have is that I couldn't find a "cowbell" sound. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of configurable sounds, including wind chimes and even a gong, but I couldn't seem to find one that sounded like a cowbell. If any of you manage to find one, please let me know. My final nit is on the cymbal chokes/mutes. To achieve this effect, I found I needed to grab and hold the cymbal quite solidly as compared with an acoustic cymbal. It's taking me a bit to get used to this, as it's like it takes a fractional second more time for the effect to occur if I don't grab/hold the cymbal properly. ... show more
