The Macro Lens comes with a clip to attach it to a camera, and a Stellar filter which is supposed to cause a starburst look from a bright source of light. One important point up front, You have to screw the macro lens into the clip that is supplied. I found this to be more difficult than at first it seemed. It was rather easy to cross thread the two. I would highly recommend that once you have the lens on the clip, that you keep it on the clip. Continuously having to take it on and off will almost certainly lead to cross threading and the clip will probably be irreparable. To test the macro effect of this lens I used a 1 cent Euro coin which is about half the size of a US Penny. I tried to fill the frame with the coin by using the digital magnification of the cheap J7 phone camera that I have. Photo #1 Macro Lens: I was able to fill the frame with the coin at 3.3x zoom (and the macro attachment) without the coin being blurry. Without the Macro attachment and only with zoom, I could not fill the frame with the coin without the picture being blurry. Normally the lens will average about 3.4 megapixels in size with no zoom. With the digital zoom it did shrink the photo to 2.08 MP. Camera by Itself: I had to go to 4MP (Max digital zoom) and the coin still didn't fill the frame. Looking at the photo it's still a bit blurry, but that could occur due to camera shake also. The size of the image was 1.88mp. Summary: Doing some calculations it was determined that the size of the coin using the macro attachment at 3.3x zoom was 25% larger than the picture taken by the camera alone at 4x zoom. In addition the difference in the megapixel size of the pictures was roughly 10% bigger for the Macro attachment. Just comparing the two pictures side by side, and not even considering that the one with the Macro Lens is sharper than the one without, I think it can be said that the macro attachment made a difference. As for the Stellar attachment, I have yet been able to see beam of light shooting from a light source. (The starburst effect.) I will continue trying and will post a pic if I an able to do it. After completion of testing, I wished there was a 4.5 star ranking.

The Martvsen Macro Lens comes in a beautiful zippered padded case. The lens itself is well machined metal with metal lens caps. The instructions are clear. The lens screwed into the clip easily and it was ready to go. The advantage of the Marvstan is that the camera can have some distance from the subject so there is space to position a light. I ran into problems using the Marvstan on the iPhone 13 Pro, it was difficult to position the clip flush with the lens after taking off the phone case it was a little better but still not flush. Rolling some cloth under the clip positioned the lens better. (see photos) The clip sits better with the iPhone lens protector off but the Marvstan is still not completely flush. The Marvstan lens confuses the sensor on the iPhone so it is important to set the macro setting in the phone to manual. The iPhone 13 has a very good macro lens built in, the only advantage of he Marvstan is it gets you more distance from the camera to the subject. I tried the Martvsen clip on an iPhone 12 mini and it sat much better, the camera operates fine and the macro works very well. I took a few photos of small geraniums outside and they are focused with good color and no lens aberrations. The kit comes with a star filter. Tried shooting a crystal and several different jeweled rings with different lighting set ups but it didn't glisten with star beams. Not sure how Martvsen got it to work on their website - might need to be the right phone or a better photographer. The Martvsen clip does a very good job of adding macro photography to some smart phones. However, I am deducting two stars for the clip not sitting flush and the difficulty of using it with the iPhone 13 Pro.

Style: 120mm Macro Lens
I tried similar lenses before and this one works well. I like that this comes with a storing case, others don’t do that. I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max. The camera system is a little older, but still holds its own. The clip on style is easy to put on and take off, just need to make sure it’s aligned best as you can. The macro lens does provide a closer view point without zooming in first. The clarity is good, there is a bit of unfocus areas when taking pictures. I don’t really like using both lenses together so far. Depending on the angle of light the lens of the phone reflects back into camera view and makes a circle around what is being focused on. The cleaning cloth napkin picture is a good example of it. Overall I like accessories like this. It’s a useful tool for those who takes a lot of pictures close up.

The lenses and accessories are amazing, but the clip doesn't work with my iPhone 13. I removed the case and camera protector and it still doesn't sit properly on the camera. Very difficult to take pictures with. It seems like this is a common issue for iPhone 13 users, so keep that in mind before ordering!

The Good: comes in a nice, handy little case that has a spot for 2 other lenses (the company also does a wide-angle, telephoto-, and fisheye lenses), the clip, a filter, and a dust cloth. Instructions weren't the best (typical poor translation) but it's not too hard to figure out. The Bad: With and without case and lens protector, we couldn't get the clip to mount the lens on so that it sits nicely on the phone lens. It was at just enough of an angle that part of the picture was out of focus. So although the lens may be ok, the mounting issue makes this not worthwhile of an investment. *I tried this on an iPhone 13 pro - other brands of phones may have different results .
