This machine is for people who have smaller feet. I would say women with up to a size 9. If you are a man with larger feet (11-13), this is not for you. Since my feet are large, I gave this stepper to a girl friend who has smaller feet. She has been using it for a few days, and it works exceptionally well. The front screw-in bolt does change the stride a lot, so you can adjust from a shallow stride to a deeper stride. The pistons do not get hot like other mini-steppers. This stepper is a very solid and heavy piece. Extremely well built, and likely to last many years. My friend who is in shape (she goes to the gym every day) told me this mini-stepper really gets her heartrate up. This is because the stepping motion works many different muscle groups that we regularly do not use at the gym. So, if you think you are fit because you do treadmill, elliptical, or even stair climbers at the gym, give this little stepper a shot. You will see that after a minute or two, you will be out of breath. The good thing about this mini-stepper is that we can step faster or slower at our own pace; there is no driving motor. I also own a desk cycle which has been going strong for 4 years, and there's definitely a similarity in sturdiness and build quality between the desk- cycle and this mini-stepper. ... show more

Pros: -Comes fully assembled. Nothing to put together, just take it out of the box and go. -Small footprint. Can be stored in a corner, or under a desk, or really anywhere that has an open roughly foot & a half x foot & a half storage area. -Not heavy to move from place-to-place. -Smooth operation in terms of the pistons. Cons: -There is no adjustment to resistance, so what it is is what it is. You can, however adjust the pedal height (i.e., how "large" each step is). -Foot platforms would be nicer if they were a little larger (longer). I wear a size 10.5 or 11 shoe (depending on brand) and my entire foot doesn't fit. I imagine if you wore a larger shoe size, it would be even more noticeable. Overall, this is a good value for an aerobic workout (and you do feel it after a little time doing it) that can be done pretty much anywhere that has a small open-space to use. I leave this in the kitchen for my wife so she can step while she's cooking, then I can take it down to the workout room, or even bring it to my office to use with my standing desk. Well built & sturdy. Really gives you a workout. I am going to have to build up the time on it as I am out of shape. I am starting with 15 minutes hopefully will be up to 30 minutes in a month.
