I am a 60-year old woman, and although this is not my first indoor garden tent, I found this kit incredibly easy to set up. I had no help, and although I confess there was some salty talk and several cats got yelled at for “helping,” it took me under an hour from unboxing to indoor growing. The tent is nice and heavyweight, there are adequate ports for cords, and it tucks nicely into the corner of my guest room where it is out of sight. I use zip ties to hang the fan, not the included ropes, and honestly think zip ties are faster and easier. For me the hardest part was wiggling the ducting on to the filter and clamping it. But I got it done (no thanks to my cat). The fan is very quiet. The light spans the entire width of the tent and most of the depth. I started my plants outdoors in the blazing hot southern sun. So I went straight to 100% light and 18/6 for the timer. Get this kit if you want to grow a couple of plants—but understand this is just a tool. I'm on my second grow with this tent and everything is holding up pretty good. The light is a good quality and super bright. The only thing that failed was the fan that came with it but it was poorly designed so I had to replace it a few months after I got it. Other than that it's a purchase I do not regret and I'll have it for the foreseeable future. The zippers are still holding up as well ... show more

    • Finally gave in and brought a tent

So during the pandemic I gained some interest in growing my own plants to smoke. I started out with 5 gallon buckets , then some storage bins (18 gal). After 14 months I broke down and got me a tent. I went with the Mars Hydro 4 x 4, best thing I've done so far. I was a little intimidated at first, but very easy to figure out, easy to assemble, easy to hang every thing up inside the tent. I did all by myself in my basement. I did find a small rip in the side seam, no idea how it happened (so be careful). In all it took about an hour. I also realized I needed another hang bar, didn't like the fact that the fan and filter had to share the bar with the lights. Overall, I love, best purchase I've made so far ... show more

    • Great light and tent; a little loud & insufficiant blower.

The light is very bright and generates very little heat producing that light, about 300W on high. The fan is only rated for about 200 cfm and when restricted by the carbon filter, it's probably 2/3's of that. Keeping in mind you can absolutely hear this thing blowing on high (a deal breaker for me). The 4" AC Infinity 200 CFM advertises the same dBA, but is much quieter, BUT I'd go with the 6" AC Infinity programmable/Bluetooth 400 CFM model and filter instead since that's probably what you want to have enough surface area on the filter to do the job for one and to remove enough heat as well. If you can get the tent/light separately then buy the 6" AC Infinite filter and fan, it might cost a little more (about $130 more), but it'd be a better setup too, quieter and able to control even the smelliest plants you grow in it. I feel the fan included in this kit is both too small for the tent/light wattage and is too loud if you want a non distracting & better balanced (for removing heat) fan that can be had for not a lot more. The bigger 6" filter has more surface area to remove more smell too & the 4" filter barely does the job. ... show more

Bought this kit back in early may to start off my plants as the outside in the East coast never seems stick to similar weather patterns. I put everything together only to find that I was missing two of the top poles to hang the carbon filter and better secure the lights. So I got in touch with MARS HYDRO and they were really quick to respond apologize and remeady the problem. A few days later I had everything and luckily as I started my grow outside I didn't loose my plants. Love the kit so far can't say enough how well my plants are growing for my first grow. Be careful as going to full lights too early can result in some burns to the leaves. Lights seems to be very bright and definitely can see the full spectrum aspect too. Tent seems sturdy and easy to clean on the inside. This 2x4 tent kit gives you almost everything you need to start off. ... show more

This tent is great! It has (almost) everything you need to get started! The only other thing we bought was a circulation fan. Pros: great all-in-one Cons: separate instruction manuals so a little tricky to put together Worth the $!

box that item came in was damaged, parts missing-Item was re-ordered ! may this time, no damages . I am VERY pleased to let you know that after a 2nd delivery, EVERYTHING has been resolved.
