Needed a decent rain jacket and snagged this while on sale (in size large, moon river color which i like alot). It feels solid with pit zips, drawstrings, packable, and hood rolls up into a collar held by velcro piece. It is very thin and pretty loud (crinkly). Its pretty lightweight. During warmer weather it's comfortable enough to wear with short sleeve shirt, but cold weather I would recommend long sleeve warming layers underneath. It's comfortable but not fleece lined or anything comfortable. I firmly believe it will do its job. 5 stars if it's exactly what you want, 4 stars if you want a warmer liner or less noisy. (See pics). On sale for 59 it's not bad, but normal price tag of 100 I wouldn't (for that price I'd rather go extra mile for ultralight / hunting gear).

Fits well trim but room for layer underneath if necessary, on chilly day. Wear 43 men's and large fits me well. I only use this occasionally on rainy day so I cannot evaluate wear and tear. Has kept me dry so far. Fold up hood was a plus for me as I will usually wear a hat for the rain.

The lining of my older Marmot windbreaker started delaminating after 20 years. This new one is lighter weight and not as good for “professional” office wear. Still better than other jackets out there.

When compared to Columbia, The North Face, and other high end competitors this price was great. Used it for walking around Vancouver, BC with its occasional downpours. It did a great job of using breathable fabric, and I didn’t feel like I would get sweaty just by wearing it. Its rain resistance was good, not great, and I suspect under heavy rains the hood might start getting damp, out in the normal rains we saw that didn’t occur. A good value!

It is not the best rain jacket, but for the weight and price, it can't be beat. I had my other Marmot pre-cip for over 15 years before the lining started to wear out. I carried it for thousands of miles in my daypack and backpack. I used it for protection against rain and wind as well as my ground cover for lunch breaks. I beat the crap out of this thing but it kept going. You can spend more than twice as much to get a warmer, more water proof jacket, and for some regions, like Mount Ranier, that is a good idea, but this one is a great general purpose rain jacket that sheds water and breathes well.
