Description

The Crane Creek 3 Person Tent offers 42 square feet of comfortable, reliable shelter that’s ideal for camping and backpacking. When its durable, seam taped polyester fly is equipped, this lightweight tent becomes fully waterproof without sacrificing air circulation. Additionally, the tent's vents can be propped open for ventilation if heat builds up inside the tent. The Crane Creek is equipped with two large, D shaped doors for easy access, and two spacious overhead vestibules that provide plenty of space for storing gear. Inside, you’ll find a seam taped floor to prevent leaks when conditions get stormy.

I've used this tent for dozens of 2-4 day backpacking trips for almost a decade. The 3p tent fits 2 adults very comfortably with space for gear. This is not an ultralight product but the comfort is worth the weight, bulk and price. The zippers still work like new. Setup is easy with hooks instead of sleeves. I've had no problems with condensation. No parts are broken or torn. Inside it has 5 pouches including 1 on the ceiling. There are felt hooks and a plastic hook to hang things from the ceiling. I've always carried this tent on the outisde of an external frame pack. It is large for a 60L pack. I've never split the load between 2 people but that would probably work. Like all 3p tents on the market, 3 adults will not fit comfortably in this tent. I like to sleep and camp comfortably in all weather conditions so this is perfect for me. I've never had water in the tent. If the tent is going to be in steady rain for 12+ hours, use an additional tarp over the tent as you should for all tents. But it is still waterproof under normal conditions. I plan on using this tent forever. Excellent product! Buy it! ... show more

I went camping every month for years as a boy scout, but it had been a while since then. My wife and I got this tent and went camping in Garden of the Gods in Illinois last 4th of July. It was a pretty hot trip, and we got rained on. The tent did great, no water leaked and we ended up putting a tarp up above us so we could open the rain fly to cool off the second night. It was plenty big for my wife and I and our cattle dog, along with a backpack at our feet. I really like this tent. Easy to set up and only takes about 5 minutes once you get some practice. It's very lightweight for car camping or at a campsite. I'd want to split it between two packs if backpacking though. ... show more

First of all, I purchased this tent outright for the advertised price. No incentives/discounts. In my years of outdoor trekking, I’ve come to expect quality out of Marmot. I was a little hesitant to purchase this tent only because I have not heard much about it and the on line reviews are a bit limited. I set my tent up for the first time this morning just as a dry run. I did not read nor follow the instructions ( what can I say, I’m a man and it’s in my DNA). My wife calls it hard-headedness/stupidity. It took no longer than 15 minutes tops and I took my time. I have no doubt that time could easily be cut in half if I was trying to beat a rain storm. In addition, without any tent stakes in the ground or guy-lined, it is very stable and can easily be picked up and moved with one hand. I was most impressed with the overall quality from the tent to the zippers to the aluminum poles. I have not tried it out under any type of hard conditions but should my opinion change, I will be sure to revise this review. I gave it four stars ONLY because I have not taken it out yet. It is pretty obvious this thing will hold up to a lot of abuse. Now I am very anxious to really try it out. ... show more

I got the 3p which fits a double sleeping pad and a double/queen sized sleeping bag and so I have a bit more room to move around. I like that there's a door on both sides so there's no stepping over each other. And when the rain fly is on there's a good amount of "porch" storage space for shoes and keeping your gear dry without having to take up space inside the tent. The pole is an X design which is really easy to set up. Overall it's the best tent I've had and I'm planning on keeping it for well over 20 years ... show more

Well built, easy to put up and take down. A perfect choice for 2 people and their stuff. Seams are well sealed, good zippers, and a user friendly stuff sack. Some may consider that a small detail, but I own several other tents including a high end four season tent, and you need to be an engineer to fit all the components back in the sack! Not a problem with this tent. The poles are durable and it does well in the wind. I'm certain you can spend a lot more on a lighter, fancier tent for backpacking, but after several trips afield, I feel I got plenty of bang for my buck with this tent. With the lightweight aluminum poles, it's an easy setup for one person. While it's technically a 3 person tent, I'd say it's perfect for two, or solo if you want more space for tripods , digital cameras, or other gear. Seems well made and at a good price. I am like totally pleased with this investment. I bought six heavier and longer nail shaped stakes and heavier cord for guy lines, plus some black plastic sheeting as a ground cloth with which you can use the lighter weight stakes that come with the tent. My last 3 season tent was a Walrus "Bullfrog." This is my replacement for that great tent whose YKK zippers finally bit the dust after only 34 years. ... show more

I’ve owned a lot of tents and this is an amazing deal for a very good tent. Easy set up and take down, seemingly perfect seam stitching with ample tie down points and it all fits so easily in the stuff sack that I thought I must have left out some parts. Nope. It all fits. I’m a happy camper.
