This was relatively easy to install, however I think some U-shaped brackets would be nice for a pontoon top. Nevertheless, I only drilled one hole (used one of the existing holes from the old light), and it’s only attached using two of the four bracket holes. This is why I think a pair of U-brackets would be nice, and no drilling would be necessary. This is a really bright light. We took the boat out on the water to watch fireworks on July 4th (it was pretty dark with no moon that night) and the light lit up the passenger area of the boat like turning on the dome light in a car.
