I took one look at this and felt this was a piece of junk. But you know how it is, I had to build it anyway regardless just for my own personal satisfaction. And the construction is odd, to be sure, but the final product isn't half bad! It's not hyper-strong, but it's strong enough to hold pens and such, which is what I was after. It actually tidied up my desk workspace pretty nicely, so I have to say mission accomplished.

I didn't expect this to be a luxury item of course, for the price. But I was still a little surprised by how shoddy the construction is. It comes flat packed with a bunch of 4mm thick pieces of precision cut particle board. The way the screws go in is very strange. There's not actually holes, they just thread into little slots cut in the same way as the edges. I'm gonna go ahead and give it 4 stars because once it's assembled it looks surprisingly decent and feels surprisingly sturdy. It also holds supplies better than I thought it would. I threw some random stuff in it to hopefully give anybody reading this an idea of the what the finished product can actually hold.

It's exactly what I expected for $16; which is to say, yes the particle board is thin (3mm), the screws do show because of this thinness, and it is a small/compact shelf. However, it's sturdier than I expected for what is essentially one of those jigsaw 3d wooden puzzles. It was bought for colored pencil storage and was able to fit a good amount (around 400+ pencils). I didn't like the knob it came with, so I just turned the drawer backwards. Assembly was quick and easy, and was able to be done within an 8 minute youtube video. The instructions weren't super clear but you can get by with the images alone. They even provide a tiny screwdriver to put it together, but I would recommend going with one of your own since the small one can hurt to use (at least for my weak baby hands). Overall, I'm happy with my purchase for my needs. It does its job and hasn't shown any stress from the things I've put in it; it's also one of the cheapest desktop storage solutions I've found.

I cannot begin to understand the positive reviews on this. It may as well have been made of wet cardboard and railroad spikes. Let's start with the directions comprised of blurry outlines of the pieces, which are not labelled in any way. Some of the diagrams for the pieces are almost entirely indistinguishable from others, so you get to play "Guess which part this is." Fortunately, the presence or lack of slots for tabs to go into helps simply the game a little. The "photos" of the assembly are equally as blurry and one will burn their retinas out attempting to decipher which pieces go where. By using the relative size of the pieces and vague mirages of slots in the pictures, you can narrow your wrong guesses down to a couple of choices. On to the materials. I can't believe I paid anything for this, much less $16. There is nothing wood about this. It's some kind of fiberboard with a veneer on it. That would be okay if it didn't disintegrate when you attempt to put the screws into.... WHERE? Oh yes, there are no screw holes for the actual threaded part of the screws. There's a hole in one piece for the screw to go into, which then "screws" into...literally....nothing. The mating piece has a SLOT(s) that the screw supposedly should align with. You've got maybe a 25% chance of that working out. So I have pieces here that don't attach because the screw doesn't align with the slot. See the pics. First picture is one of the slots the screws go into, in theory. The second picture is an example of the odds you face getting the screw into the slot. In this case, there was no way to get that screw in there without breaking off the tabs on the receiving piece. To clarify, there are tabs and associated slots to go into, along with the screw/slot nightmare. So, if screw doesn't align, you are out of luck, because tabs help align (or not) and hold the pieces. So, three pieces in on the main part of the organizer, and I am unable to complete the assembly because there is no way to successfully attach that piece. On the brightside, I don't have to try to finish the assembly only to hit a showstopper later on in the frustration chain. This may be the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. I am not going to attempt to stuff it back in to the box, drive an hour and a half round trip and spend more in gas than the item is worth, to return it. It's going right into the trash. Do yourself a favor and skip this. Even if you manage to assemble it, against the odds, the visible large screw heads and the really cheap looking veneer (looks NOTHING like the item picture).... Yeah, save your money. By the way, I'm an engineer and absolutely know how to work a screwdriver.

I bought this to organize my tween's messy little art desk which is covered in everything art or craft related. But, as far as the product goes: First of all, I guess I shouldn't be so surprised - you get what you pay for. And this was cheaper than other similar looking ones - for a reason. It comes in many little pieces that you have to screw together and all of the screws are visible. Not just visible, but like on top of the shelf, instead of underneath it or within pre-drilled holes. It doesn't even make sense. The shelves slide into place, also visible and not hidden. It isn't even hard to put together, my 10 year old niece wanted to help me do it cause she likes building things, and she pretty much took over and did it on her own. But it looks terrible aesthetically. As you can imagine, the little wood drawer isn't on a track. It's just a wood box that once built, you push in, pull out, fall out. Lol. But it does the job to hide smaller things like erasers. My daughter is using this on her desk for markers and colored pencils that were a huge mess before, so it's functional, but it's basically just thick cardboard screwed together with visible screws. I wish I'd just spent a little more on the other brands and gotten a higher quality one. If, by accident, she spills a cup of water on her desk or something, this will definitely be garbage instantly. Now that she's filled it, I worry that it can't be moved or it'll fall apart under the weight of the markers. That's how thin it is & how little faith I have in it's durability, sadly.

For the price, it's cute. It comes with everything you'll need to put it together, including a little screwdriver. I wanted it for my desk and I don't think it's going to work for it, but it's good to help some of the clutter where my kids do their homework. It's kind of difficult to tell how large this is in pictures, hopefully with full length pencils and stuff people will be able to get an idea of the size better. It's not bad though, especially for the price and if you're needing something to help declutter pencils and markers and stuff that can junk up a desk. Kind of awkward to put together, but still easy. Instructions are a little small so took a bit of squinting from my old eyes lol, but still easy enough to follow. Despite it not being what I wanted for my own desk, I still think it's a good purchase b/c the price is pretty cheap. It does smell though. Has this weird fishy pee smell to it which is weird, but will hopefully air out quickly.

Assembly was kind of a pain, but not so bad. Some of the tabs and slots were kind of janky and I had to wiggle and force them in. But I got it together in 10-15 minutes. The real problem comes when you get it assembled and see how cheap it looks. In the photos, it shows the exposed edge of the tabs with wood grain appearance, but nope, it just looks like cheap particle board. The angles in the product photos don't show how badly the screws are exposed. Not just the heads, but the actual threaded portion is exposed because of the way they designed it (The screws thread into a cutout in the boards, and the threaded portion of the screw is visible in the cutout.). Not to mention the VERY exposed screw heads aren't even a nicer, more decorative screw. They're just cheap zinc phillip's panhead screws. It would have been nicer if they had at least used flush allen head screws. But they cut every corner they could. Even the drawer handle looks and feels incredibly cheap. I gave this a very generous two-stars because it will (sort of) serve the purpose I bought it for until I can afford to spend money on something nicer, and because it didn't arrive broken. I'd say "You get what you pay for", but in this case, I feel like I paid double what this is actually worth.

Absolutely love this! It looks cute sitting on my desk and helps me keep all of my items I use daily together and organized! It's very spacious as well and the drawer fits quite a bit of stuff in it as well, I have all of my small tools I use in the drawer. It was easy to assemble, but be careful not to tighten the screws too much or be too rough with the wood because it's cheap wood and will break or chip! The smell of the wood stinks really bad when it's taken outta the box to be assembled but after it sitting out over night to air out, the smell went away. 😁
