Description

The MM7055 power amplifier is ideal for a “5.1” home theater system, whether based on a moderately powered receiver or a surround sound processor. This 5-channel amplifier rated at 140 watt per channel into 8 ohms is capable of long-term power delivery into low impedance speakers. Equipped with an El-core transformer and LAPT (high efficiency power transistor) the unit boasts a massive power supply, which coupled with current feedback circuitry delivers powerful sound with astounding musical accuracy. All output stages feature identical topology for uniform high-quality sound across all channels, and the MM7055 lets you choose between balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs for each channel, for maximum system configuration flexibility. For more complex home theater systems, pair MM7055 with one or more MM7025s for an immersive 7.1 or 9.1 audio experience.

I have used Marantz equipment in my various systems for over 20 years. Recently I chose to "upgrade" and stepped out on my gear. I tried several different amps and processors with varying degrees of success. After what seems like an eternity (3 years), I'm back. All is right with the world again. I was concerned they wouldn't take me back, that I was a cheater! But, no. All is as it should be. That familiar warm tone, the complete lack of audible hum or hiss they're still present. The ability to play loud enough through my Paradigm monitors that my wife has threatened divorce. That is quality sound. Marantz, I only have ears for you. I've been running my entire system off of a Denon AVR – X3700H and I thought it sounded pretty good. When I added this Marantz all I can say is wow! Crisp detailed highs and a solid detailed bass. I've been hearing detail in two channel stereo music that I've never noticed before. Watching a movie, my surround speakers have more detail than ever. I'm not so sure I want to buy the McIntosh 5 channel amp after living with this for a while. I'm driving a pair of Bowers and wilkins 706 S2 speakers bi-amped with this think. The sound is amazing. I was driving a pair of Klipsch RF82 towers for a while with it and the sound was again amazing. I starting to believe any speaker you feed with this is going to sound good. Great sounding while it works. I have had 2 over a number of years. One channel failed under warranty and I took it to local authorized service depot. Within a week I had a new to me unit on my doorstep. Fast forward a number of years, at least 5, another channel failed. Out of warranty this time. Undecided on buying another one but if I do I will purchase extended warranty. As noted by a "pro" review, these amps are dead quiet mechanically and no speaker hiss. Excellent product, you cant go wrong with this. Would have been nice if it had a remote to turn on and off. Trigger is the only way to turn the AMP on and off using a remote, or manual control. When the receiver goes into sleep mode, it turns off the AmP. The AMP doesnt wake up when receiver comes out from sleep mode. ... show more

first off I'm a DJ I work with audio and video for over 20 years me and my family have always enjoyed Marantz products I grew up in the seventies my dad had a Marantz stereo in the mid-90s I bought an Marantz Sr 18 it sounded beautiful I even had the Marantz monoblock amplifiers Ma 700 now let's get started with my review it's probably going to be long the boxes that came in were inadequate for shipping there was a hole in one of the boxes and a scratch on the face plate that didn't bother me it's a very small scratch I bought two of these and I'm using all 10 channels after I got everything plugged in I thought this doesn't sound good I was using cheap XLR cable so I bought XLR cable which cost me almost $500 it's still did not sound as good as I thought it should then I bought 10 gauge speaker wire it's still didn't sound the way I thought it should at this point I'm thinking there must be something wrong with the electrical in my house so I bought a emotiva line conditioner and guess what it's still sounds cheap and distorted let me put it to you this way I have cheap Pyle Pro amplifiers that sound exactly the same as this Marantz amplifier I would like to return them but Amazon said it's over the 30-days I want to be clear I am not upset that I spent over $2,000 on these amplifiers I'm upset that I spent over $2,000 on amplifiers that sound like cheap garbage ... show more
