    • Aeration for proper irrigation
Aeration of your lawn is an important factor to keep it growing properly. There are certain areas on my lawn that need a little bit of extra aeration to keep the water going deep into the lawn. I found this Ohuhu 38-Inch Grass Aerator and I knew that it would work perfectly. Assembly was very easy. I simply followed the diagrams since there were no written instructions. How bizarre. Nonetheless, the tool is heavily constructed of steel and will do the job of aeration properly with no problem. This is a good manual tool if you have a small yard or planter area, I'm trying to aerate a rather large yard, and this it gonna take all day! Easy enough to put together, but one of the spikes was poorly threaded, so I was unable to get a nut on it. Other than that, it's a great tool, and does exactly what I need it to. ... show more

This manual spike aerator seems to be well made. The powder coated steel is thick and heavy, and it was easy to assemble with the included wrenches. Just be careful to not over tighten the nuts holding the handle, because it felt like I was stripping the screw threads. The spikes are sharp and penetrate the soil a good depth. In some places I can just push the aerator down without even having to step on it. If you do have to step on it, the U-shaped opening will accommodate a very large work boot. I have not used this product yet as it is still cold where I am. Shipping was however super quick, and I suspect it will work as expected. I was happy that it is heavy (premium feel). Some assembly is required however it took about 5 minutes to put together. Once it gets warmer out I will be using this - I will update my review if there are any issues but giving it 5 stars due to shipping and quality of material. ... show more

I had a plug type aerator before, and it was frustrating to use. The plug channels always seemed to get plugged up with debris. This spike type is easier. After I step it down into the ground, I wiggle it a little bit which seems to make the holes slightly larger. It's easy to put together, sturdily constructed and the handle is comfortable for long use. My one quibble is that I left it outside one night and there is already rust around the welds at the bottom. ... show more

The Ohuhu grass aerator tool was not difficult to put together or use. The product comes with all pieces needed to construct the tool, including the wrenches. I still felt the tool was a little wobbly after putting it together, but it still did the job needed. I have hard clay soil in my yard and some areas are so compacted, the water does not drain for a while. I used the tool to aerate certain areas before and after a rainstorm. I did notice a difference in one area. I am waiting to see how the tool will help with the other lawn treatments. Overall, the aerator basically does a good job of punching holes in the compacted soil. It does not pull-out cores of soil unless I tilt it while removing it from the soil. ... show more
