Description

Every great yard begins beneath the surface. Compacted soil, thirsty roots and patchy grass — that is where we started. YIYOUPENG was built by people who spend their weekends in the garden, not in a showroom. We design lawn aerators, garden hand tools and outdoor essentials that do one thing well: make hard yard work feel lighter. Every handle, every joint and every spike is tested in real soil, in real weather, season after season. We focus on the tools that keep a lawn alive — lawn aerators that loosen compacted soil, garden hand tools for everyday planting and weeding, and practical outdoor equipment for real backyards. Every product is designed around one question: does it make the job easier? Yes. Our tools use screw-fixed connections instead of fragile snap joints, so the structure stays solid once assembled. Clear steps, minimal parts and no complicated setup. Visit the YIYOUPENG Store to explore the full collection, compare models and read real customer reviews. Four brand-new upgrades: 1. Material upgrade, more durable and reliable; 2. Height upgrade, suitable for a wider range of people; 3. Handle upgrade, more comfortable; 4. Handle spring upgrade, more effortless to use. Note:It is best to water before use.

Effective Manual Spike Aerator with Helpful Self-Cleaning Springs – Good for Small to Medium Lawns
Size: M
I received this YIYOUPENG Manual Lawn Aerator (All Metal 21 Tines, Spring-Loaded Self-Clean, Adjustable Height) through Amazon Vine in exchange for an honest review. This is a heavy-duty all-metal spike aerator with 21 sharp steel tines, a spring-loaded automatic reset/self-cleaning mechanism, adjustable foot pedals for height, and an ergonomic T-handle. It’s designed for DIY lawn aeration to reduce soil compaction, improve water/nutrient penetration, and promote healthier grass. Weight is around 7–8 lbs, and the black finish includes rust-resistant coating. What works well The 21 tines cover a useful amount of ground with each step, and the spring-loaded design does a solid job of helping the spikes reset and shed dirt/debris—much less clogging than basic non-spring spike tools I’ve used. Penetration is good in moist soil (aim for 2–3 inches), creating clear channels that should help roots and water move better. The all-metal construction feels sturdy with reinforcing ribs, and the adjustable foot platform plus cushioned handle make it more comfortable than cheap single-spike versions. Assembly was simple, and it stores reasonably compactly. At the discounted price it’s a practical alternative to renting a machine or paying for professional aeration on smaller yards. Drawbacks / practical notes This is still manual work—expect a solid workout, especially on compacted clay or larger areas. Best results come when the soil is moist (not bone-dry or soggy); dry hard ground requires more force and reduces effectiveness. Spike aerators (as opposed to hollow-core plug types) primarily create holes rather than removing soil plugs, so they can be slightly less ideal for very heavy clay in some situations. The self-cleaning springs help a lot but aren’t 100% magic—occasional rinse or light clearing may still be needed. Not the tool for multi-acre properties unless you enjoy the exercise. Overall A well-built, user-friendly manual spike aerator that makes DIY aeration more efficient and less frustrating thanks to the spring-loaded self-clean feature. Great value for homeowners with small-to-medium lawns who want to improve soil health without renting equipment. Pair it with proper timing (moist soil, after mowing) for the best results. Recommended as a solid mid-range manual option. ... show more

Effective Lawn Care Tool That Gets Real Results!
Size: S
This manual lawn aerator is an outstanding, heavy-duty tool that makes restoring bare or stubborn spots in your yard simple and straightforward! I was able to use this tool on a couple patches of our grass lawn with great success. The all-metal construction feels sturdy and durable under foot, and the 21 tines dig right in to loosen up the compacted dirt, allowing air, water, and nutrients to penetrate deep into the root zone to promote healthy grass growth. After using this tool to properly prep the soil, I sprinkled some grass seed over the aerated patches and let nature take over. Thanks to the great seed-to-soil contact created by the tines, I was able to successfully fill in grass where there wasn't any before. The self-cleaning feature is a huge plus as well, keeping the tool free of clogging soil build-up as you work. If you have dead patches, high-traffic areas, or thin lawn spots that need renewing, this manual aerator is a fantastic investment that delivers visible results! ... show more

Great for small patches and gardens, sharp spikes, easy assemble.
Size: S
I think this is a 5 start product for what it is, but it’s important to understand that this is not something you should plan to do your entire lawn with. It is relatively easy to use, but does require a decent amount of effort and weight to drive the spikes deep into your lawn. Making sure your lawn is wet before using will help, dry lawns are hard to aerate. It is easy to setup with a few screw, tools included, and feels very durable once properly assembled, no issues with anything coming apart so far. This is great for doing dry or dying spots on your lawn, which is what I use it for, but it would take forever to do an entire lawn. It is the right size in my opinion, large enough to cover some ground but small enough to store easily. Be careful if you have kids as the spikes are very sharp and it should be stored somewhere safe. A great value for what it is, easy to use and assemble, but not a whole lawn product. Looks nice but is very utilitarian. ... show more

A niche tool for hard-to-reach spots
Size: S
This has got to be one of the most niche garden tools I've ever used. My lawn is not large, and it's actually too big this aerator-except for three spots, and it's in these areas where the aerator shines. All three are narrow and not particularly long, and even the lawn mower is a bit of a tight fit. This manual aerator, though, is perfect for these areas. It was easy to assemble, and is very easy to use: pick a spot to aerate, and step on the tool. As it's spring-loaded and self-cleaning, the next step is to move to the next bit of ground to aerate. It isn't for every yard, but if you have a narrow or small, odd shaped bit of grass, this device may solve a problem you didn't know you had. I gave it 4 stars because the instructions are printed on the outside of the box. ... show more

What a wonderful innovation!
Size: S
This manual lawn aerator is a wonderful innovation. It is relatively easy to use but requires a bit of effort and weight to drive the spikes into the soil, especially clay-based. My dad found it relatively easy to assemble and felt like it is quality construction. He uses it on small areas of his lawn for remediation of dead/dried grass areas. ... show more

Plugs Wins
Size: M
Big difference between "tines" and "plugs." My opinion, tines are for little/small surface areas such as gardens, etc. Plugs are for larger surface areas such as lawns, etc. I went with my neighbor's plugs device.

Doesn't actually pull plugs of soil
Size: S
This would is more accurately called a "soil perforator" than an "aerator" because it doesn't actually remove the plugs of soil like you would associate with the common understanding of what a lawn aerator is going to to. It does work acceptably well for putting lots of holes in prepared/damp soil, and that can help with getting water to the roots before it evaporates on hotter days, but it only compacts the soil around the tines rather than yank it out to allow room for time and gravity and insects to move through and resettle the soil. It was easy to set up, and easy to operate. The tines are fairly thin, and you can remove a few around the center if you need to it punch through hard dirt more easily, but this is really something for use on prepared and regularly maintained soil if you use it right out of the box. This would be a solid 4 star item if it didn't create those expectations that come with calling something an "aerator." ... show more
