Description

Burgeoning artist Jonathan Switcher (Andrew McCarthy, Pretty In Pink) is reunited with the love of his life (well, his artistic life anyway) when he discovers the beautifully crafted mannequin he created years earlier is now prominently displayed in the window of the Prince & Company department store. Much to his surprise, and to the delight of the viewer, Jonathan will discover that his art project has more than superficial human traits when it quite literally springs to life in the form of "Emmy" (Kim Catrall, Sex And The City). This inspired comedy, a nod to such romantic fantasy films as One Touch of Venus, is directed and co-written by Michael Gottlieb (A Kid In King Arthur's Court) with Edward Rugoff (Double Take). The film co-stars James Spader (Pretty In Pink) as Switcher's work rival; Meshach Taylor (TV's Designing Women) as his outrageous and flamboyant co-worker; Estelle Getty (TV's Golden Girls) as the owner of Prince & Company; and G.W. Bailey (Police Academy, TV's Major Crimes) as the store's security chief.

First off, when I got the Blu-Ray I was disappointed that the Blu-Ray disc was loose in the case. That makes me a little uncomfortable, because I like my discs to be in perfect condition for viewing and re-selling in the future. The price for this disc is understandable. This movie is not available to stream on iTunes, Prime or Netflix. It isn’t even available for digital purchase. I believe that is because of copyright issues going on right now. The disc will play on your gaming system, as it plays on my PS5 without any problem. When you load the disc, it will show the piracy warning, then a logo for Olive Films. Then you will get your main menu. The main menu is basically the poster on the cover. Unfortunately there is no subtitles or bonus features. Without subtitles that means you cannot show it to your friends who speak another language. The Pop-Up menu shows the main menu option and the trailers. Because there are not much features. Since this is not available to stream, you will not be able to convert it with Vudu Disc to Digital. So buying this blu-ray is the closest you will get to owning it. Is it worth it? Of course! Just keep in mind it is just the movie without bonus features. Just like the G.I Joe movie it’s rare to get the movie in this quality. I think for this movie, it is priced fine, but for the second one. I think $19 or more is too much, because you can actually enjoy the second on on iTunes. Definitely worth a buy! ... show more
