  • Decent about of ice, serviceable, wastes some water, fairly easy install.
Style: Half Dice Cube
Manitowoc have a great history of commercial grade ice machines, I've been using them for years. If you want a quick install you need to know what you need, and although there is some documentation in the manual's or pdf's, the install is more obvious when you see the machine. Top drain is 1/2 inch npt female, this is where the water from the making ice cycle is dumped when it goes into "harvest" mode. The bottom two connections, Left 3/8 inch npt female, fresh water input, and the right is 1/2 inch npt female for the ice bin drain. As shown on the second diagram is the need for a vent hose. When I installed the drain side, I used two 1/2in male to barb plastic fittings with 5/8 hose and two tee's tying the both outputs together with a vent and a drain, simple and cheap. Fresh water side is self explanatory. I was close enough to a main panel to add it's own circuit although it's only 5 amps. Sure it uses excess water to make the ice, some people use condensate pumps other plumb it to the dogs water... It is a bummer that these machines can waste potable water, but they don't "have" to. I forgot to mention don't use GFCI Outlets other reviewers had issues in the manual clearly states not to. ... show more

  • This thing pumps out some serious amounts of Ice!!
Style: Full Dice Cube
This thing pumps out some serious amounts of Ice!! I was struggling to decide on which ice maker to buy for my Tiki Hut bar. There are so many off name brands that are half the price but reading reviews it seemed like they seem to break down a lot sooner. You can tell that it is solidly built and as soon as I turned it on it was dropping 64 cubes every 6-8 minutes. I live in South Florida so it is hot all the time and the bin filled up within what seemed like 3 hours. I will have no problem throwing some serious parties or filling up my large coolers to take on the boat fishing. ... show more

  • changing from 5 to one star. Update below
Style: Full Size Cube
I currently own a Manitowoc 560lb machine, it has run for years without ANY issue. The larger one is outdoors. I needed smaller one for my other bar, this one sits indoors. I had my guy hook it up and it dropped ice so fast. Here's to hoping this one runs for years and years My understanding is Manitowoc uses a unique metal plate that makes there machines reliable and efficient. Update: These little electronic machines are quirky and troublesome. Not all the ice machine service guys will work on these. Mine ran for 2 to 3 months without a problem. However, Covid hit and we were closed for 9 months and we shut it off. After it was turned back on, all the quirks came out. The coolent leaked out, the machine leaked water out the bottom, and it kept shutting off with the red wrench of death light. Keep in mind it was under 2 years old, and off for half of that time. The depth probe was acting up, the inlet valve had to be replaced (finally found the cause of the mysterious water leak), then the compressor died (at 2 years and 2 days). Hey, no problem, it has a 3 year parts and labor and 5 year compressor warranty, right?. Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My portion of the compressor replacement was $1300 which was not covered by the parts and labor warranty to replace a compressor. The pre covid price to buy new here on Amazon was $1500 which is what I paid new, and it costs $1300 more on a barely used machine under warranty repair????? Plus all the other repairs. I've had 4 different ice machine repairmen working on this over the 2 years (and a couple more that wouldn't), they have trouble diagnosing, they talk with the factory, and they fix one problem but there are still 2 other problems going on. The model now runs for $2k new, ouch! And the repair bills, OUCH!! After this machine, I say buy a cheap brand run it til it dies then buy a new one, it will be half the cost of the Neo. And avoid the one year of problems and frustrations we had, an buying ice all the time. Get a cheap brand. ... show more

  • Approx. 8 fluid oz to the sewer after ever ice cycle
Style: Half Dice Cube
Makes ice pretty quick. Extremely happy with the quality and quantity of ice. However ice melts off fairly rapitly. Manitowoc could of done a better job of insulating the storage bin. Also goes through about 6 gals of water a day between melt off and the extra water that gets removed after the ice is made. The drain hole is approximately a foot off the ground so if you don’t have a floor drain you might want to consider buying a condinsate pump to move drain water up into a sewage line. I have a dog bowel with a float valve that I tied into so my dog can have ice water during the 100* summers. ... show more

  • I love this ice machine
Style: Half Dice Cube
I love this ice machine. We use a LOT of ice while we're entertaining by our pool all summer. This means our coolers, drinks, guest coolers, etc. This sucker makes a batch of ice in about 10 minutes. I have not tested it's daily production or capacity, but i know it keeps up with quite the demand in our house. I'll also note that its VERY easy to clean. I've found that I clean it more frequently than our old one because it's just so easy. ... show more

  • Best purchase I have ever made
Style: Half Dice Cube
This machine replaces a residential kitchen aid. It is inside our home. It was several $100 cheaper than replacing with a Kitchen Aid. Comes with a 3/5 year warranty, compared to a 1 yr with kitchen Aid. . It filled the bin with ice over night. It is louder than kitchen aid, I guess probably cause it's making 4x's the ice. No louder than a fan. Received it in one day with reg shipping. ... show more

  • Top o' the Line
Style: Half Dice Cube
My refrigeration mechanic recommended this or the Hoshizaki. True and BeverageAire are garbage. Great machine, As far as a commercial machine goes, this was as close to plug and play as you can get.

  • Worked less than a day.
Style: Full Dice Cube
Easy setup. Produces ice quickly. Had the machine up and running in no time. It quickly half filled the bin, and then stopped making ice. All it would do is heat water and cycle it through the machine. After 3 weeks, the machine was finally repaired...bad valve. Hopefully no more problems.
