I have handled and ordered quite a few different brands and styles of paddles in search of quality, combined with affordability and playability. I started with wooden paddles and have since had fiberglass, graphite, carbon fiber, polymer, etc. Overall, I have found these paddles to land squarely in the middle of the pack at an exceptional value. These are perfect for beginners and even intermediate-level players. The paddle has good weight to it (although you may want to add some lead tape for balance) and the surface lends towards power more than it does control, which is a good balance as you learn how to control your shots. This mangrove set of 2 paddles is an exceptional deal for the price point! We are new players to the pickleball game but are really enjoying learning. These paddles seem sturdy and feel solid although they are not that heavy. I believe they will stand up well and last a long time.
