I purchased this hammock prior to my summer trip to West Virginia, with plans to hammock frequently throughout the summer. I ordered it from MalloMe, and I have been incredibly pleased with the product that I received. I believe that you will have no problems when it comes to this product, no matter your personal ability or age; it is perfect for all demographics. I used a few criteria to evaluate the hammock that I received: durability, comfort, and ease of setup. In terms of durability, the product I received has aged well. I used it frequently throughout the summer in many different weather conditions, and there is no way to tell. The color has not faded or stretched, and the hammock has no signs of wear or tear. The stitching has remained intact, and the fabric is still in pristine condition despite usage. It also has a sack stitched into the side to hold items such as keys, phone, or other valuables for ease of not only storage but usage once inside the hammock. In regards to comfort, the hammock from MalloMe is an extra-large hammock suited for two people. I have used the product not only with another individual, but also solo, and in both aspects it has been relatively comfortable. One thing I have noticed throughout usage is when two individuals are using the product, it is more uncomfortable and tight than it would be if you were solo. However, this product will always be more comfortable solo; and it is easy to make it comfortable for both individuals again based on rearranging positioning within the hammock. It also held both of us up with no problem; it did not feel weak or as if we would fall through the product. The first place in which I discovered an issue with this product was during the evaluation of ease of setup. It did not come with everything required to set it up; it was missing hammock straps, which in reality is a poor choice in regards to distribution. When my hammock arrived, I was unable to use it until I had also ordered a set of hammock straps, which were not all that easy to find in my small college town. Aside from this, once I had obtained straps the hammock was incredibly easy to setup, and can be used in many locations, even those without many trees, due to its large size. There are many positive characteristics to this product. Not only is it incredibly durable in a variety of weather and environments, but it is large and comfortable. When laying inside by myself, I was able to fully cover myself as if the excess were a blanket. Although it came without straps, once I sorted this dilemma out its setup was incredibly fast and easy. Other than this criteria, there are also other positives. Considering the size of the product, it is very lightweight and compact; making it perfect to take with you to any location at any time. More so, for the product you receive, the current price of $26.99 is a bargain, as you will not have to purchase another. ... show more

I’m a pretty intense hammock user and I know my way around the hammock brands. However when I came across MalloMe, I wasn’t sure why I’ve Never heard of them before. It turns out this isn’t a very old business and it is FAMILY OWNED. That’s huge for a family business to take off like this and I always like supporting and seeing a thriving (small) business. Anyway down to the review. I received my hammock and straps 2 days after I purchased them thanks to amazon prime and was very pleased when I opened the box to nice packaging and a nice little “how to” card. I’m not sure why a brand this big wouldn’t include some MalloMe stickers but like yeti and GoPro and eno and any other big brand for products. But it’s whatever. I hung my straps and hammock right when I received them and was happy to say it was a huge hammock. Bigger than my eno Doublenest. I already knew it would be because I did research but it was still exciting to have a big hammock. I’m about 6 feet long and it fit me perfectly. Anyway I was swinging in the hammock and everything and the straps held up to their standards. I did have a problem later on with the hammock itself but the customer support was amazingly good and it was fixed within 3 days. If I were to recommend a brand, it would be eno. But if I were to put the top brands in order from best to worst, MalloMe would be right under eno. I love it. Here is my comparison to enos Doublenest hammock and MalloMes extra large hammock. Similarities • Both could easily fit three maybe four people in them • Both are made with triple stitching on both the hammock and the straps • Both come in different color hammocks • Both have attached storage bags on the hammocks • Both come with carabiners when buying the hammock. While MalloMe also includes extra carabiners in the strap package. Eno doesn’t include extra in theirs strap bag (oops that’s not a similarity) • Both are rated to hold at least 2 people Differences • Eno is softer material and has slightly better quality in their stitching and carabiners • Eno Doublenest is rated for 400 pounds while MalloMe holds 1000 (I wouldn’t test 4-6 people in it though 😂) • Eno includes top quality wire hook carabiners while MalloMe has lower quality hooks that still work • MalloMe has 10/10 customer service and will win you over instantly while eno has a larger customer base and can’t cater to everyone • Eno has more colors and more attatchment options such as the under hammock storage, the insect safe guard, and the rain tarp while MalloMe has the necessities like straps and hammocks and the rain guard. • MalloMe straps are longer and have more attatchnent options than eno does and it provides you with more possibilities (ex: thicc trees, or farther distances, or even stronger support if you wrap the slack around the tree and attach the hammock to one of the end loops) Overall this review is way too long but I wanted to give my full experience with MalloMe and suggest that you look no further than this review. I'd been in the market for an affordable, relatively light weight double wide hammock for camping/bushcrafting/bug-out (double width to achieve a proper diagonal lay in the hammock [ / ] ). I've spent about 2 1/2 hours in it so far, and thus far pleased. I'll update if necessary. With this hammock, having made my own temporary ridgeline, and found the correct "sag", in a diagonal lay position, it's very comfortable. The sewn on color accent at the edge is extraneous and won't bear much weight, though it cradles my head fine. The tree straps and carabiner appear to be strong and good quality. It could stand an aftermarket bug net, but those are easily attached. I do suggest that serious users make or invest in a Ridgeline which has several advantages... it helps with the deployment of the hammock, ensures the correct "sag", provides a "hand hold" when sitting up/getting out, will hold up a bug netting.     • Great budget option for big folks, but merely an adequate lay for an overnight
I've used this product for backpacking and overnight trips since 2017. I bought it initially because at the time it was the biggest cheap parachute hammock I could find. I have ended up purchasing hundreds of dollars worth of accessories before feeling the need to upgrade the hammock. It's a great basic piece of kit, but you will at the very least want to get some tree huggers to go with it, tying off with the included rope is harmful to trees and probably a bad idea in general unless you are competent at rigging. That being said, I immediately fell in love with this thing, in spite of nearly freezing my ass off during my first overnight attempt. I got tree straps, a bug net, tarp, under and over quilts, basically I tricked out my whole setup until I was left with only one thing left to improve: the hammock itself. There are great books and entire youtube channels devoted to properly rigging a hammock, you can't just hang it between two trees and expect to be comfortable. A huge factor in this is proper angle of suspension and a ridgeline, this allows you to get a shape where you can lay nearly flat. After devoting hours of practice to improving the "lay" of this hammock, I feel like I have reached the functional limit to my comfort. That, and after nearly three years this bad boy is finally getting threadbare in spots and perhaps a bit overstretched, so I'm going for an even longer hammock with an integrated bug net. I think this will still get used as a spare, as it's super awesome to drop into a day pack for going to the beach, hiking, even rigging up between mangrove trees in Hawaii, which is the last place I set this up. It's relatively lightweight, super cheap, and for the price it allowed me to zero in on exactly how I want to sleep in the woods, which is to say, not laying on rocks. ... show more

    • Great Hammock/Not great with Knots!!!
We bought this hammock as a Daddy's day present. I have to say we love it so far. It's so sturdy. A few years ago my father bought us a rope hammock while on an island for vacation. We didn't have trees or a metal hanging post that would work for it. My dad dug 2, 4 ft deep holes, filled them with concrete and put heavy duty wood pilings into it. He then screwed metal O rings into it to it to clip the caribeeners attached from the hammock too! Works like a charm!!! With the length of this hammock we realized we'd have to use the extra rope that came with it, to make up for the length on both sides to reach our poles. No prob! It was more than enough rope. Unfortunately my husband being like many men feels he knows the way of all things manly, like tying a knot on those ropes that should never give. (Mind you my husband has very bad back problems) he tied those knots the way he saw fit, and hopped on in to the hammock! It was great for about 1 1/2 mins before one of his knots gave away and he was flat out on the ground in excruciating pain! Mind you this was his fault! Not the hammock makers!!!!! For future reference, I hope you guys send a little paper with it, on exactly how to tie a knot that holds true and will never unravel like it did to him. It took him a few days to recover. And once I went on the internet and learned how to tie knots like a sailor, he finally trusted it enough to give it another go round! He and we love it! The kids pile in while one of us swings in it. Great product, as a large guy 6ft (initially 450# now down to 340#) it's been hard to find a good and safe hammock. This one absolutely fit the bill. I initially used it for a few nights back when I still weighted 450#+. It was comfortable and held up great. I just used it this summer at camp with my scouts. I'd lost over 120# and it was even more comfortable. I spent 6 straight nights in it, and it was the best sleep I've gotten camping. You can't beat this price as well. Product arrived fast and was exactly as described. I set it up immediately and both my wife and I climbed in... after all, this had a hefty weight allowance so we figured we'd put it straight to the test. Between myself, my wife and the family dog - no problems at all. This hammock handled the weight with no issue whatsoever, including swinging back and forth and moving around. Impressive... Surprisingly comfy too. Once we found a comfortable position, we both crashed out and fell asleep, swinging in the breeze, for a good 2 hours! For a product that came in such a simple, small bag and looks like a parachute made out of a windbreaker jacket, this was a nice little buy. I think we will get another though... All of us jumping right in was just to put it to the test, which it handled beautifully, but it's more comfortable with just one person at a time. Great buying experience and also received a prompt, friendly email from the company we bought it from, thanking us for the purchase and for the feedback.
