If you plan to take this directly from box and use it, you will be disappointed. I took it all apart and filed down all the slide rails smooth, also added some dry lube. Then removed the large screw and polished it, removing all burs. That took me a couple hours to complete but it operates much better now. It opens and closes smoothly and with little effort. Over all not bad for the price as long as you don't mind rebuilding it.

i shold have listened to previous reviews. buy cheap, get cheap. not the same as the one pictured (pic 1). when you click on the invoice view now, it goes to a 5" vise - not the 4" one purchased. lower slide )circled) is not machined, just painted; and the handles (circled) are not anywhere close to the pictured quality.

Vise works pretty well. You may have to grease up the threaded shafts and adust mention in the slides but overall well worth the money. Plenty of room for an 80% and jig.

Had to finish the gib slides, as they were only roughed, or something. Definitely was not a step I was expecting to have to take on something supposedly meant for machining.

Waste your money elsewhere. I thought this would work for me because I wasn't looking for something super precise. The guy brought on this thing is so rough and the hole that it passes through so large by comparison that the sliding jaw caught on it and pulled it all the way out. It is very wobbly, so you can't draw a hole straight through both walls of a tube in a single pass. DO NOT BUY.
