Hat Trick is rated IP67 and can go underwater up to one meter and continue to operate. Many other products claim "waterproof" but are only splash proof with ratings of IPX6 or below. I recently got this speaker to use for music video creations. I am a professional photographer and videographer who oftentimes shoots music videos. One of the biggest hassles I always have while shooting music videos is a reliable speaker that isn't going to die on me mid shoot, and is light and portable but is loud enough.     • Small compact and great if you do not want your music really loud!
We have been setting up our gazebo so that I can work outside while I am home. This compact little wireless speaker works great. I have to watch the noise level as I have neighbors that are within 50 ft of where I am working and I do not want to disturb them. I was able to pair it relatively easy once I looked at the booklet. The buttons on the speaker are not very intuitive as you have to hold them in sometimes depending on what you want it to do. The music played fine for me but I'm not picky about sound quality. The sound is louder than my iPhone and sounds just as good. I did notice the bass in it and was able to enjoy listening while I worked. I was a little surprised when I heard the man's voice coming from the speaker to tell me everything was working just right. You get a verbal notification when you pair or when you turn it on or off.     • Heavy and expensive for so so sound
I use these wireless speakers a lot at work. I have few requirements for them. They must be waterproof (I do a lot of plumbing) They have to pair easily (several devices that get used with them) and they need to be loud. This speaker checked 2 of those requirements off with ease, it is stupid simple to pair to a device and it is waterproof. The sound quality at full volume is terrible and even at full volume it is not very loud. Combine the poor sound quality with it being twice the size and weight of my current JBL Clip2 and I have resigned to make this a paperweight. It is easy to charge and comes with a charge cord and auxiliary cord which many like this don't. It has a male voice when you first power it on and when you turn it off. The voice is very creepy (I've had some Chinese versions that a female voice yells at you so this isn't a deal breaker). For the price of this I think I would keep shopping for a better sounding speaker. I don't expect symphonic sound from such a small device but this one really is terrible! ... show more

Honest review here. THE sound quality IS AMAZING for such a small and portable speaker. It's amazing how far they have come! This wireless waterproof speaker is truly waterproof and you can submerge it in water and it still works great. We used it on the boat yesterday and it was so nice not to worry about if it got wet in the rain and or fell in the water. It includes a clip so you can attach it to a backpack, purse, bike or whatever you might want. The battery life is 10-15 hours which is also wonderful -- that's a whole day of boating or outdoor fun. This speaker is great!!!! We use it in the shower, and out by the pool and never have to worry about the speaker getting ruined. My son has dropped it on the pool deck several times and no damage at all.

What happens if music played in the rain, while walking, or in small boats? Hat Trick is a waterproof palm-size speaker (photo 1) with a carabiner attachment (photo 2). During the lockdown, I dined under my patio's leaky tin roof to get more of the sun's Vitamin D and watched online videos. I had to carry a large Bluetooth speaker, laptop, mosquito swatter, dinner, floss, electric toothbrush, and water bottle. What a hassle! Sometimes, I accidentally left the electronics in the patio and feared the rain would damage, in particular, the speaker. Using Hat Trick, I am unconcerned about rain. Further, when carabiner-belt carried (photo 2), and with a smartphone, the sound goes everywhere, including rainy and watery conditions! Hat Trick is also rubber coated, designed shockproof, to take small falls and drops. For example, Hat Trick survived this-- indoors, I knock over Hat Trick with a three and half feet fall onto vinyl flooring. Attached it to my belt, went outside while it's rain pouring, and works just fine. I tested its sound using a high-end Chromebook, a Dolby enhanced Android tablet, and a high-end Samsung smartphone: For Youtube talk videos, sounds better than expected. For Youtube concerts, it sounds terrible. When a speaker is small and waterproof, I expect the manufacturer to optimize a preferred sound range. Instead, the manufacturer chose mediocrity at all sound ranges. Sounds decent when a single instrument plays. When multiple instruments (e.g., band) plays, the treble and bass are slightly off sync (don't ask me how)! And high frequency lowers with multi-instruments. On full volume, the speaker sounds distorted; half volume is decent. FYI, I'm a somewhat audiophile. Is almost 5 stars, because Hat Trick can be a great sound machine in mobile, wet weather uses. Is 5 stars for boaters, beachgoers, or adventurers. If one has only one Bluetooth speaker, this one might be the most useful. Go out and get more sun with this speaker, because Vitamin D boosts your immunity system! ... show more
