Description

The Max2000 Double-Cut Aviation Snip has three hardened alloy steel blades. Precision ground cutting edges, held to tight tolerances, ensure consistent performance. The Max Double Cut feeds smoothly and cuts cleanly without surface distortion. A curved cutting edge on the center blade reduces cutting force, and serrations on the cutting edge face easily advance the cut over slick metal surfaces and through seams encountered in round metal duct and stove pipe. A self-starting point on the center blade also makes short work of blind cuts. Large relief grinds on all blades minimize drag. From the Manufacturer The Max2000 Double Cut Snip employs a best of all worlds with a close tolerance design for consistent performance . A curved cutting edge on the center jaw reduces cutting force required and large relief grinds on all jaws minimize drag. The double cut blades feed smoothly, cuts cleanly without surface distortion and easily navigate metal seams encountered in round metal duct and stove pipe. A self-starting point on the center jaw makes short work of blind cuts.

  • Double Cut Nips
The nips cut as advertised. I have used them to cut aluminum gutters and downspouts at this point but they have worked well. I am able to follow a straight line and the nips cut out a thin strip from the material without damaging either side of the cut. It leaves a very clean cut on both pieces, the use piece and the waste piece. ... show more

  • Great tool
These are my go to tool for cutting downspouts. They work great and the scrap strip that it makes works great as a feeler for the 3/16” hole in mortar for the screws to get a solid bite when installing downspout straps

  • Klenk vs Malco
I use double cuts 6 days a week installing gutters, I mostly use them for downspouts and the downspouts I'm cutting are made of thicker aluminum than typical downspouts. I bought klenk brand first but I've only used my Malcos since I purchased them. The tip on these poke threw much easier and they cut much easier. ... show more

  • Great way to cut downspouts
I recently replaced all the downspouts on my house, and found this tool to be extremely useful for cutting downspout to the correct length. To start the cut, I poke the lower blade through the downspout just above the seam, and cut around until I get back to the other side of the seam. At that point I'll use straight line snips and cut through the seam. This tool actually will cut through the seam with no problem (which I've verified) but I've heard it saves wear and tear on the tool if you make that final seam snip with straight snips. BTW, I tried cutting downspout with a sawzall and it made a mess with lots of burrs, and the vibration actually broke the seam on the gutter. ... show more

  • work good
They work good on round pipe. Cleaner cut with zero burrs compared to aviation snips. Easier to keep a straight line but the sliver of metal can get caught in the blades and throw it off, especially on 30 gauge. Can be hard to move forward on 26/24 gauge. If you are patient with them they will make a nice factory edge. ... show more

  • Pretty good tool. Still in break in period
I use it for cutting downspouts. Slower than a hacksaw but less stressful and aggravating to use. My spring personally came out the second day I owned them. So I put a little glue on the ends. They work well. Not disappointed at all. Will probably buy again.
