My wife and I enjoy the casserole dish. We have three alike that we have bought from Amazon and use them often. The latest use was to carry this dish full of home made potato salad to a family reunion. They ranted and raved about the dish. Oh, and they said Momma's potato salad was ok, too.

The lid does not fit the dish properly! Could easily fall off when removing hot item from oven!!

I used this to roast a whole chicken. In stead of use a roasting pan and foil wrap, this casserole would keep the roasted chicken moist and tender. I put a piece of foil on the bottom as liner to make cleaning even easier.

I like the size of this casserole dish and the color. It has a handmade feel to it as the dish and lid are not perfectly oval and so the lid does not fit as pictured. But it is a very nice size for smaller casseroles, especially with just my husband and I at home now. It is fairly sturdy and has held up well in the oven and dishwasher.

Overall, this is a really nice ceramic pot. I wanted a kind of 'dutch-oven' style ceramic pot that I could use to make sourdough - I have a standard dutch oven pot for the oven, but I make a lot of boules with it and I'd like to try an actual loaf, so the shape of this seems to make more sense. The lid is a bit odd - it doesn't have a tight fit, and wiggles around a little bit when it's on the pot. Also, I noticed they don't recommend you use this for temperatures over 428 degrees - I thought that was kind of a random number, and most pans like this are safe to 450. The bread I make cooks at 450, so that could potentially be a problem. I think time is going to have to tell if this will really work long term, so I will probably have to update my review at some point. The pot does seem pretty sturdy, and apart from the lid, it seems decent quality. I'm just not sure yet whether I recommend it or not.
