I’m a “backyard” mechanic, and don’t have a shop set up where I could look at getting a large air compressor for an impact. This puppy does the trick! Haven’t met a bolt it won’t break. Axle nuts are no match. Gone are the days of removing the center cap, then reattaching the wheel to crack those. Couple chugs and done. Makes quick work of a teardown. Love this thing! Awesome wrench. More than enough to get you in trouble when you start breaking stuff. More is not always better even though it works great. Heavy, top heavy. I went back and bought a 450-600 ft-lbs because it was practical for auto use.

To be honest I don't know how well this impact driver works. I was sent the correct kit and box, but when I opened it it had the incorrect impact driver in it. It makes me concerned that the product is not authentic. Please see attached photo.

this thing has some serious power, it is by far stronger than my snap on air impact, in will snap a 1/2in grade 8 bolt if you are not careful. Works wonderfully and the battery life is very good.

I purchased this after a tire shop over-tightened my car's lug nuts (I couldn't get them off with a breaker bar or a large 4-way/cross lug wrench). I ended up taking it to a different tire shop to just "loosen" them for me, so I could finish my brake job at home. The technician was using this Makita XWT08 (1/2") and it was zero effort for this tool. I ended up taking a picture of it before I departed, and then promptly went on Amazon to purchase. Once it arrived, I tried it on the front two wheels (they were also over tight), tired on my wife's SUV, anything and everything. It just flat out worked. The description says over 1000 ft/lb of removal torque. I call BS. While working on a car suspension, I ran into several nuts and bolts that this tool couldn't loosen. I tried a freshly charged battery and also made sure I was using the highest torque setting possible and still couldn't get them off with the tool. I actually had more success with a 1/2" drive manually operated ratchet. Other than that it's an okay tool. Just know that it's no stronger than other electric impact guns. ... show more
