  • So far, so good
Style: Kit Only
Everything seems fine so far. The box the items were delivered in was quite messy. It looked like someone just threw everything in the box. I have never received a used looking box before.

  • Makita vs the others- Contractor comparison
Style: Kit Only
This review is for the Makita 18V brushless tools. I'm in the construction trade and switching over from Milwaukee to Makita. I am regularly on a job working side by side with Makita, Dewalt and Milwaukee cordless tools. The Makita brushless outperform the others. Under continual use, the tool itself doesn't get as hot and doesn't require as many charges as the others somehow. My current Milwaukee Fuel driver couldn't hang with the Makita getting hotter and requiring more battery changes. The power between the big 3 Dewalt, Milwaukee and Makita are all about the same. [latest anecdotal comparison was building large framing panels for concrete walls at my nephews new home- I had Fuel, my bro in law Dewalt and my Nephew had the Makita- all of us in the construction trade] Now it is a pain to trade tool lines as you have a considerable investment in batteries and such. The Makita batteries charge a little faster than the Milwaukee. Contractor or Homeowner????? In General; Comparing the Brushless to the Standard version of these tools [they all make brushless and standard models- with the brushless costing considerably more] If you are only using these for short periods you will not see a difference in performance. So Brushless for a homeowner is probably overkill. Where the brushless shine is during continuous use....and the longevity of the tool is better with Brushless- they won't wear out as soon as the std versions. Final takeaway; I've seen/used All of the big 3 of these tools for many years. They are all very good....so splitting hairs a bit here. You will see a significant difference between the big 3 and the cheaper lines like Ryobi that have plastic gearing.....thus those are cheaper. If you are only using these tools for small jobs....even the Ryobi will serve you well.....where you run into problems with the std version tools or the cheaper lines is continual heavy duty use. Hope that helps ... show more

  • Was my only cordless tool while I worked as a professional.
Style: Kit Only
These are great tools and the batteries are some of the best. I used these tools while I was an installer and still swear by them now that I'm retired. I used to burn up other drills or destroy their batteries but never a Makita. Very reliable.

  • Love these tools
Style: Kit Only
Nice set of tools. Bought these at a lower price in Dec 2016. Brushless and 4 ah batteries was a good deal. To bad that had to complete the set by buying the Brushless circular saw on another site for $50 less than on amazon. These are a great improvement over the old set that i Had. These are well balanced and light weight and have very good power for the average person. Makita makes a more powerful hammer drill and impact driver than that is in this set. But this set works great for me. It was down to the XT505 set and this set and buying the circular saw somewhere else. Glad I did. Upgrade in tools and Battery size. ... show more

I bought this when it was 370 dollars. It was cheaper than Milwaukee and I like Makita. Every tool seems well made and durable. I work construction and my co workers like my tools.
