Description

Makita 18V Lithium-Ion is the world's largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. At the heart of the LXT Series is the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery and the efficient Rapid Optimum Charger. The new 18V Lithium-Ion Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger (DC18RD) charges two batteries simultaneously, giving tool users unparalleled charging efficiency so their batteries spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. The 18V Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger offers key advantages for Makita 18V Lithium-Ion cordless tool users. The exclusive built-in fan cools the battery by forcing air through the battery's air vents during the charging process for faster charging. The charger communicates with the battery's built-in chip throughout the charging process to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage and temperature. The result is category-leading charge times: two 18V Compact Lithium-Ion 2.0Ah batteries in only 25 minutes; two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah batteries in only 30 minutes; two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah batteries in only 40 minutes; two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah batteries in only 45 minutes.

    • Makita dual charger
Style: Plug Pattern Name: DC18RD
This is a must have for anyone running the Makita 18 V platform. It charges two batteries simultaneously. It is a fast charge. Each of the 2 ports operate independently and produces independent readings. When one stops charging the other will carry on to full charge. It is durable and quite convenient. ... show more

I tend to go with the namebrand, when it comes to chargers. The Makita charger is well worth the money. It’s been working for a good long time and gets daily use.

    • Excellent quaaity and charges my 9V battery in less than 1 hour.
Style: Plug Pattern Name: DC18RD
Makita products are not cheap but they are excellent quality, and do the job. This charger makes it easy to slide the battery in, charges quickly, and is solid (heavier than the other chargers). I discarded aother charer because I had to struggle to slide the battery in, then it would not hold the battery so I had to keep pushing the battery in to get it fully charged. This charger is fast and very reliable. Well worth the cost. ... show more

Works great. I had to replace my charger after a power surge at the house burned it out. This one costs the earth but it works fine.

    • If you can get this deal, go for it
Style: Plug Pattern Name: DC18RD
For the DC18RD ordered and shipped by Amazon: I got this for $88.79 + tax. The charger looks like the factory item but the top of the plastic clamshell package with all identifying info was cut off, so, something is different about it. It works fine, charging my batteries effectively and is quieter than the original charger that came with my drill. Since most other dealers want ~$200 for this, I feel fortunate to have found this deal. ... show more
